Not so my horsehair friend. Just remember, that not all cars are slower round a track than a bike.
I agree, that car would give a bike a very hard time, if you can get a car light enough it CAN brake and turn harder than a bike, more rubber gripping harder, and more stability.
Just remember that is no toy it's a seriously fast bit of kit!

Maybe. However, they are (mostly) all a lot more expensive though.

True, but my point remains valid. A good rider on a 1000 although not garunteed a win, would have made it more sporting 8)

Even if he lost, he could've said "Only costs £6999 new, and it's insurance group 14! In your face!"

the Ariel atom that clarkson was driving is 300bhp supercharged and weights in at a 1/3 of a ton so approx 900bhp per ton pretty good for a "car"
it also does 0 to 60 in 2.summat seconds gonna need a mean bike to beat it
one downside though it is 29,000 quid in that quise.
i would prefer a T-rex myself 3 wheeler bike engine powered 2 seater and a mere 22,000 quid

Clarkson is rummoured to have a motorcycle in his "collection" at home , ol'classic BSA or summit. Probably sh**s himself jus looking at it.
Fifth Gear had some good shoot-outs, bike VS car. Gixxer 1000 vs "TrackDay special" thing, if i remember!
Bike won
........cos the rider was nuts! (Kev Squirly Smith) \:D/

I did email the beeb about that, anbout the CBR v car thing. Not exaclty fair is it? It should have been based on what you can get with your money. I think you can get something that would beat alot of cars for £25k, no?
I also emailed Rizla Suzuki, who said they where challenging the beeb with a prepped GSXR thou', but nothing ever came of it.
Guess clarkson didnt wanna get beat by bikes, huh?

About the 5th gear thing...
the gixer lost, but not by alot.
Theres also a clip if u search video google of an R1 almost beating a porsche 911 around thruxton. Why didnt it beat it? Niall mackenzie didnt take the right lines. Search and you'll see
Also on 5th gear...a Duke 999 beat a car, i cant remember what car and i dont care. The duke won. It was the cool black one too...
