Well they have had their fair share of exploits in the past, but because its not a mainstream desktop system then the news is not intrested in telling us.

Yes, this is worrying, but OS X is much more secure than Windows, by design. I would expect the download vunerability to be fixed very quickly, now that it's got so much publicity.

To put things into perspective, here's a quote from Sophos, the anti-virus company:

"It's disturbing to see a second worm for OS X so soon after the first, but it should be remembered that this is only two compared to well over 100,000 viruses for Microsoft operating systems," said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for Sophos.

No system is completely secure, but OS X is generally pretty damn good.
