Hi

As some of you know my friend died a couple of weeks ago. We've been talking at work and we'd like to create a tranquil kind of area outside at work as a memorial ( I dont know if thats the right word ) The idea is that it has some kind of Sculpture in it and also some trees and plants and benches, so that its a quiet area away from the hub bub, rush and stress of work. Somewhere to go and read a book at lunchtime or to sit quiet and have a think if everythings go to much.

Does anybody know about setting up this kind of thing, The company are looking to fund it. Has anybody done anything siimilar before, or know of any Sculptors or Garden designers ( T your gardening GSCE course might be a real help here )

Any thoughts or ideas I would be really grateful for your input.

Cheers

Fizz

Fizz anything i can do help just let me know, i would have a look for garden designers in your area explain what you need and how much space you. in the meantime let me know how much space you have and once i'm up and about properley (hopefully tomorrow) i'll sketch something out.

maybe lots of trees to sheild away from the car park and building with benches round the inside and maybe the sculpture in the centre or how about a water feature?

I think its a great idea.

Agree with Tara about the sheilding etc.

Tall Bamboo is very tactile and rustles in a soothing way when the breeze blows, pretty resilliant to weather too.
Water feature is a must i'd say, nothing more soothing that the sound of gently splish splashing water.
What a very nice idea and decent of the company to fund such a thing too.I'm sure i have some 3D garden planning software at home somewhere, if you sketch your plan i'll see what i can do to bring it to life for you. I had it bundled in with a floorplan software that i used daily for work, but never actually playe with the garden design bit.
