hello I am planning on swapping the bars on my '02 naked, for a set of wider bars.
When removing the control/switch housings on the bars, for the first time, might it be normal to have to pry (or prise) them off the bar, once the screws are removed?
On other bikes I've had, once the screws were loosened, the housings would open up and come right off.
But I would imagine those had been "off" before, and I'm pretty sure the ones on my SV have never been off the bike before.
I read the procedure in the Clymer's manual, and from what they say, the housings should open up clam-shell style and come off same as the others I've worked with. It just makes me nervous to take a screwdriver to them, to pry them apart.
Was wondering if anyone else had experienced this?
thanks so much!
