How do you guys combat the old helmate hair, when you arrive at your destination??
I have spikey hair which i use wax / putty on it. No matter what i do my hair is always plastered to scalp when i arrive, it looks really **** and i want to know how to avoid it without not wearing a helamte atall. Is there any gel or wax or what ever u could recomend??
Cheers in advance

yep.. shaven head...
Or when I was younger... curtains, just a quick frizz with the fings and I looked gay again... (or like someone out of take that... mark someone).

Well I had so many problems with helmet hair, I decided to shave it all off.
i had a bandana i used to wear inside my helmet, that stopped my helmet from getting waxy when i had spikey hair, then when removing the helmet, just mess it up a little.
nowdays in the summer i shave my head, and in the winter - i just live with it.

Cut the top of your lid off, should stop your hair getting messy

I put the clippers over my hair and gave myself a service style haircut. Much easier, for me.
spiky hair is a tough one, you tried a bandana?
Just cut off all your hair, you know you want to!

If you take a live feed from your ignition circuit and wire it to each side of your helmet, taking care not to interfere with the venting system you will find your hair will stand on end at all times.Works for me. :)

is it powedered whitener from the bowels of beelzebub...?
Grade 2 shaved all over seems to do the trick

The best!! :winner:
I have crap hair anyway, so wearing me lid normally improves it.
You could always keep a baseball cap under the seat.

Failing all the above,a stiff drink or three and a packet B&H should do the trick.Who cares about hair after that?

or stick it in the back protector of your jacket, also known as the "magazine pocket"

You know, I thought the old helamte atall was well out of date since the introduction of the fluff faec. Obviously it's a retro thing, so I may get mine out of the wradadobe.
Helmate hare is something that just comes with age, mate - unless you are eJwish and had the old crimpercussion.

If you drill your "helmate" full of small holes you can stick your spikey hair through them- keep your wonderfull hair styling with only marginally reduced impact resistance.
Send it to Northwind - he's good at that type of thing.

I have an easy solution to helmate hair, go bald
Once had about three/four foot of hair (yes with long pointy beard and leather trench coat for that full death metal look) - pics not on request
got too thin so cut it back, then it started widow-peaking so cut it short, then when I got the bike gear, bought some clippers and DIY'd it
These days its a gillette mach3 every now and then for the full Lex Luthor look, but hair like velcro does not make putting a lid on at all easy
You could grow it out and get a rather nice pony tail... or even a mullet
