Looking for a cheap C90 for a moped race. Looking for all spares also, engine etc.

Thanks

Technically a C90 isn't a moped (sorry to be a pedant).
Shed loads of 'em on eBay
A few C50s as well but they're a bit pricey (good condition).

:D

My next project might be a "Purple Helmets" replica C90 with motocross forks etc.
 :D :D

Project - Any collection of rusty old crap that when assembled, could be mistaken for a motorcycle

So, how would that qualify as a C90 then?

"or similiar", eh? This has a bit more power, and it's a bit more modern, but might still suit you...

I had one of them too. Mine was red and black. It was ralls attempt at a BMX but IIRC it weighed about 2 tonnes !!

Sturmey hub though... 3 gears, controlled by the revolutionary grip shift. The pushbike equivalent of the 748 :)

For something like this (http://www.extremetrifle.com/3/mopedracing_index.php), or maybe this (http://www.extremetrifle.com/3/cheesyrider_index.php), or there may be a few C90s left over (in Rome admittedly) from this (http://www.extremetrifle.com/3/3_p2p_intro.php).

I thought mopeds were 49cc or less? A CG125 is, umm, 125cc :D

Honda Cub was declared greatest motorcycle ever on a TV last week (Discovery?). Charley Borman replaced it's oil with used chip fat it ran perfect, and dropped it off a building, trashed the wheels, but it still started.

I seized mine (C50), freed it off and carried on, it was still running fine (although obviously it was lacking full compression and power, burnt a little bit of oil to) when I sold it about 500 miles later.

Budgie's were top wheelie bikes you could wheelie a budgie for miles...

there was an old boy on a c90 that went past me every day when I was heading into Gosport from fareham, you could nick his I doubt he'll put up much of a fight...

my grifter spent most of its life with an old wheel spoke in the gear mec! the more you wound the spoke in determined which gear you got! (snapped cable and no money to replace it) :(

The trick with a Budgie was not to wheelie it... I had one, it was ace. the mudguard was broken, so it constantly ade a noise like someone dropping a pile of pots down a metal staircase :) After we stopped riding it (all got too big) we removed the back tyre and went tearing around with the bare rim. Good fun.

Had a Striker too, it was great as long as you didn't want to go up a hill.

I had a Raliegh Chopper, snapped the frame from playing "Kick Start" on it.
My Dad's mate welded it back together serveral times but after a while there was not much left to weld ! :D

OK, so back on topic. A C90 eh? How about one of these, a C130? Bit pricier...

Did all the grifter riders do the essential mod of tucking the mudguard trailing edge into the tyre for genuine engine sounds?
