Hate to ask, have been reading old threads but just want to check with you wise folks will a GSXR 750 k5 shock fit a K3 pointy SV650???
Would any of the K year GSXR 1000 shocks fit if not?
I think the answer is yes, appreciate if anyone can confirm, assume its a straightish swap with just some modding of the battery box?
Thanks as always.
Kieran
just put gsxr 1000 k5 shock on mine today yes you have to mod batery box i cut a corner piece out and made a raised tray with a piece that is cut out so it raises battery also the old sv shock has a metric fine threaded bolt hole in it the gsxr doesnt so you have to fit a longer bolt with 2 washes one at each side and a nut i loctited the nut and peened it so it wont come undone hope this helps

Seems a GSXR 1000 shock is the way to go, with a lower bolt from the GSXR then.
Heard the K2 is the best fit although softer tyhan later versions?

the k3 shoccker is spot on (with the battery box modded slightly that is)
it went a treat on my k3 svs
and does make a very appreciable difference, although the front springs and oil makes a bigger difference

Thanks will be doing springs also, not fitting those myself though as I'm not comfortable messing with my forks!
Have secured a K2 GSXR shock (1000 miles if genuine).
Have fitted shocks before so should be a easy job, only hold up will be this faffing with cutting battery trays, etc!
Cheers

Its easy to be honest. You will need to support the bike at the front, drop the fork legs out (After taking off wheel, fender etc) undoing the top nut, drining oil, cleaning, refill with correct oil, drop in new springs replce top nut job done. If you can do the rear shock, then the forks are just as simple imho.
