Hi

As my new sv is getting covered in crap
Need to get a fender extender / hugger .

What are the Skidmark gear like ? They appear to reasonably priced compared with Suzuki stuff.

My main concern is with fitting the fender extender , do u have to drill the front mudgard ? As my DIY skill are c##p.

If so how much do u recon a stealer will charge to fit in time ( as rates vary)

Mods on the list to do
fender extender
hugger
fork springs & 15 w oil
can
may be jackup plate
decent tyres !

Its just one of them bikes that inspires a bit of modding !

Cheers

Will watch the thread with interest.

I got a fender extender for my curcy. Didn't want to drill and use those horrible screws, so attached using the adhesive strips and araladite, but the extender was such a bad fit to the mudgaurd it eventually came away. Was I unlucky in getting a badly made one?

Got a red fox hugger on my curvy. Well made and good fit. £72 postage paid for a carbon lookalike. Don't know if they do one for a pointy.

with regards to the Fender Extender

Its a 20min job max and that includes doing a cuppa,

Take the fender of, clean if needed , Offer the fender up and mark your holes, remove the sticky pad cover and stick the Extender into place, with a Decent sharp drill bit about 2mm drill you holes (i done 2 at the sides and 2 at the rear, roughly an inch either side of the curve of the fender)

Drill in the self tappers, reassemble and robert's your father brother

Hope that help

I too am DIY disadvantaged, keep putting of removing the rear and tidying the back end up as it seems fiddley,

I got my fender extenda from Bandit mania £15.
I couldn't bear the though of self tappers so used sikaflex 221 glue from Partco as recommended by several of the elder statesmen on this forum
