looking at the swingarms in pics tother day reminded of the two occasions I've adjusted chains on mates bikes.

One was a bandit 6 and one a K4Sv. Both had the flat section swingarm. When I loosened off the axle nut, the alignment indicator bracket moved too, causing a groove to be put in the swingarm. This is bad at the best of times, but on the new ones with a black swingarm, would, I imagine, be heartbreaking. Was this just me or have others suffered?

I've had a lovely circular scratch scored into the swing arm on my SV too. Most irritating. The only reason I'm not too mad is the rest of the bike looks a wreck anyway

It happened to me, put a huge scratch in the bottom of the swingarm. I suppose that your meant to have a spanner on the other side to stop the bolt tunring.

After that happened i cut the aligment thingy down so that it is only a washer.

Thanks for the advance notice.
I would never of thought that the indicator would move.
Definately make a mess on the Black swingarm.

Makes mental note.....Use 2 spanners.
