basically prevents corrosion (or inhibits)

and at that price it's a rip off buy it yourself and spray it wherever you want :wink:

sorry, am I missing something? You can get a bottle of scottoil FS365 or ACF50 and squirt the whole bike for free, or they will charge you and as it's washed off my rain and salt I'd imagine you'll become a regular quite quickley......

If you're on a budget a squirty bottle with a mix of cheap engine oil and parafin does a similarlky good job apparently and that really does cost a couple of quid. (Please for the love of god mind / clean the brake discs after)

Actually yes you are missing something, AVF 50 is not water soluble. Therefore if correctly applied it does not wash off and one application protects your bike for the whole winter.

Come spring you use a solvent based cleaner to get it off.

I still think that its a straight forward enough job to do it yourself and in fairness would bet you'll do a better job yourself as you will be more fussy, after all its your bike, your resale value.

ACF50 doesn't wash off as easily as Scottoiler fs365 does as it's oil based, and it's supposedly a very good lubricant too so worth spending the extra for as you can replace the WD40 too with it, but 1 litre of ACF50 only costs £28 retail, and 1 litre will allow you to apply it to the entire bike several times over, so it does seem a bit steep, but then I guess most of the £23.50 will be for labour.

Looking at it like that, then Bridge Street Motorcycles isn't charging too highly. The commercial reality of labour, rent, rates etc all has to figure in any shop price.
