cleaning calipers -again!

as above ,its the front (i think -could do with it for the summer).Will a toothbrush and a bucket of water do ?or will i need a proper brake cleaner .whats the procedure?take them off,remove pads and clean calipers and then put back?is it as easy as that?or am i missing out a very important part as this seems to simple ?i (think )just a clean of pistons will do it ,dont want to split the caliper body if i dont have to ,im confused ,any links/tips folks please .its only binding a bit so its not that bad (i hope) [-o<

As easy as that yes, best to get some brake cleaner though.

Wish you luck in that a quick clean solves your binding problem. If it doesn't, it'll be a lot of crap stuck behind the dust seals, preventing the pistons from returning in properly so you'll need to split them.

Usually good to grease the back of the pads with copper grease, use the toothbrush and try and get any crap stuck inbetween dust seal and piston out.
