View Full Version : Rules for MOT
Just checking.
My bike is currently on SORN & without road tax, but with insurance.
From what i recall, i can only legaly ride my bike to a pre-booked MOT appointment and back again if i fail.
Just want to check that this is correct.
I'm pretty sure you can ride it there (if as you say it's pre-arranged), but not sure you can ride it back if it fails.

As longs as it's prebooked yes you can ride you bike to the MOT place.
If you live in London and your test is in Aberdeen you might want to book one closer though

Yes, you can legally ride back from an MOT centre too if it has just failed the MOT. :)

I always go a month early so I have time to fix what ever is wrong. I ride all year so SWOR is no good for me. Same with my car (when I had one that needed an MOT).

You can also ride it to have MOT related repairs.
If you have to pop by work on the way, i've done that too!
