I second that, All you need is to sort a route out, print it off, post it and arrange a date via a poll or something. Then I'm sure that there will be helpers. ie: swisst to ride at the back, treacle to ride everywhere very fast. And rictus to arrange camera shoots and fag stops.

Maybe some of your favorite rooutes around the ashford, margate, ramsgate, canterbury, hythe area? Just a suggestion. Sounds good though. Maybe this time I can actually make it to a rideout again

sexysi
13-03-06, 08:52 PM
Sounds cool, I lived in kent for 20 years so loads of nice routes.
sexysi

JakeRS
13-03-06, 09:32 PM
OK,

Only decent routes I really know are the a2070 from ashford down to brenzett, then along towards new romney, turn right before you get there onto the road through lydd, through camber round the niiiice twisties, then to rye, then down to hastings.

I havn't had the chance to explore kent much tbh, my main riding buddy is a bit restrictive (though he would come on a rideout on his ZX6)

Thinking early/mid april as am away end of March, and might give it a bit of time to get a tad warmer.

Suggestions and input puh-lease!

Thank you from the now eager to please and not feck things up 18 year old

If you start off at something like the oakdene, then a lot of us souff londoners can start here and then head on down, either 7 mile lane towards rye, or along the a20 towards maidstone, through sutton valence headcorn tenterden rye etc etc.
Just a suggestion
sexysi

JakeRS
13-03-06, 09:46 PM
Suggestion noted!

Will have to get meself up to the Oakdene though...

Being down in Folkestone meself its a slight way methinks..

sexysi
13-03-06, 10:32 PM
So is like Location= Ashford kent, really folkstone!"£$%^%$£"!
I beleive they are not that close together, unless you go by train that is.
sexysi

JakeRS
13-03-06, 10:36 PM
lol many a time I have tried to change that to Folkestone. It changes then changes back again :?

Its only 16 miles by m20, 20 odd by a20 away from ashford anyway..

More input welcome :D

edit: where is the oakdene?

Jdubya
14-03-06, 01:44 PM
Oakdene is just of the M20/M26. When you exit the M20 onto the M26, take the first and only slip road, then follow round the roundabout to your right toward wrotham on the A20. The oakdene is on your right as you go up the hill...probably about 600 yds off the roundabout HTH

sexysi
14-03-06, 01:50 PM
The oakdene is just here.

Just a basic route...if someone would like to expand?

Okdene to Rye, Rye to Hythe then on to Dover via Capel and then end at H's or stop there for lunch then A299 via whitstable or something long those lines.

Just a quick thought after looking at google map.

JakeRS
14-03-06, 10:21 PM
Basic Route

Meet at Oakdene.

- Oakdene to Ashford on the A20
- Ashford to Rye on the A2070
**stop in Rye, grab a cuppa in a cafe (they've shut the bike park!)**
- Backtrack from Rye down the Camber road through Lydd
- to New Romney, through Dymchurch to Hythe.
- Hythe to Folkestone
- Folkestone to Dover (not on the Alkham Valley - speed limits of 50/40/30 now - and speed cameras sometimes) via Capel, then the old A20
- Dover onwards down the A2 or other route which I cant think of to H's for some munch.

Carry onwards to Whitstable if someone would like to provide a route?

Jake, good plan so far mate, Rictus' route is spot on for the route to Rye.

Double back as you say To Lydd (Not over keen on this as theres always lots of cars!! I prefer the run across the marsh!

Head up the 2070 to Hamstreet, then over towards Canterbury, then to whitstable.

JakeRS
15-03-06, 09:12 AM
Rictus is leading for that bit then eh  never been that way

ok, the road across the marsh then, turning right at brenzett to head into hythe then onwards to H's, then whitstable etc?

Nonononono...dont just do it because i dont like it. I will ride anywhere, just dont see the massive attraction to Camber road. Stick with your plan mate.

JakeRS
15-03-06, 10:14 AM
no no, we will take the marsh road, for one I love it, and when we were going to be taking the a20 we would have come across it once so was going to take the camber road.

plan coming together nicely, just need some route from H's onwards

also, wondering if theres a decent a road to take from folkestone/dover to H's rather than boredom of the A2?

depends on peoples work/child commitments I guess

for instance my dad works in catering, busy weekend easter weekend, he was going to come but wont be able to if its easter weekend.

if its easier for everyone else though, it'd be fine..

hi guys, went out on the ninja ride out today (mate and my dad have ninjas) and i think we covered pretty much the whole of this route (started at oakdene all thru to rye), just when we got to rye we headed off to hastings instead of going out towards whitstable like we're going to.

it was a fantastic ride, especially the bit that rictus has suggested.

this is going to be good :D will draw up a plan of action this week.

If I go i will be heading from bexleyheath, so you could join me. As you will probably go down the A2 which just touches Bexleyheath, you'll have to keep up with a Z1000 though.

Even if it was pushed off a cliff its teminal velocity would be around 120-130mph thanks to the laws of physics, so it wouldnd even do it then. However, holding on to a bike at 151 MPH takes much strength. Ive been there done that, and it wasnt plesent, it was actully an indicated 160, laying on the tank looking like a muppet. Anyway, thats 151 with the stock cans on, with the blueflames, you should be loosing around 20hp, so that will drop you down the scale ;)

120-130mph is the terminal velocity of a sky diver with limbs spread, a bike would fall much faster
