and here is my fix....

du-rust with a small piece of Emery cloth and paint over with Hammerite finish Gloss Black paint...
Since the Headlight Top Fairing is gonna cover it , I think It'll look good...

I think its disgraceful really. I know itsa Suzuki but it's just cr@p. My K3 has done 4000mile, all through this winter. The bottom yoke has gone like yours but I wash it every week. Basically its not fit for purpose.

However, if I'm realistic about it there is no point in complaining to Suzuki as the most that is likely to happen is that they will replace it with one that will do the same. And besides I don't want to be without my bike.

I won't EVER buy a brand new Suzuki again. (Or any other bike actually, this was kind of a one off!).

My Triumph Trophy had done 85000 miles, had virtually no rust and I never cleaned it.

I think thats 1 of the problems of suzuki they use other materials maybe cheaper ones, because i heard a lot of complaints about this from all kind of suzuki bikers

Yes all the yokes rust but are easy to keep clean. I had my fork legs replaced under warranty as the sliders were corroding - try it.

Mine do this too. I autosol them whenever I have the front fairing off, but they soon rust up again. One of those, "I know the SV is cheap, but really how much more would it cost to make one that didn't look a decade old after 1000 miles" things.

I'm think hammerite may well be the way to go (why oh why did they make it so pitted and hard to clean?!). Out of interest, did you drop your forks out, or just paint it "in situ"? I'm just a bit concerned about the idea of any paint dripping/running onto the stanchions and creating an uneven surface (and subsequently blown fork seals).

Good question, I'd like to know this too ! I reckon I'd use a silver coloured paint rather than a black one though.

My k3 is exactly the same, my 99 bandit also had/has the same problem.

Just masked up the forks and painted over them,

I should have dropped in all fairness, but hay.
