I just bought a theft recovery bike and it seems to lay over really far on the kickstand, thought maybe the guy before me cut it down? I just traded up from my ex250, only got to ride her down the road and back so far but Ive wantd an sv for forever! unfortunately now she wont start though. it sat several months I think new plugs charged battery and new gas and she wil be running fine. anyone from georgia or even the US?

Welcome, I'm currently in DE, will be down to Va in May though. Don't know the length as mine is currently in the shop. It may have had the rear raised though, I know when I did mine it felt like it was going to fall over.

What shape/material are the current dog bones? I think the popular approach is with aluminum flat bar.

HTH.....though probably not much

What sort of SV do you have ? is it a 99 - 02 model or a K3 onwards

IMHO the 99 - 02 do lean over a fair way when they are on the sidestand

Welcome to the site BTW

wouldn't worry about the sidestand they all seem to lean over much further than most other bikes

Thats probably it then. she is an 02 model. I just got her running at 1 am lol. new plugs and gas did the trick, now I just need a clean title!!

It's possible for the stand mounting to bend apart a little at the top, which allows the stand to move around a little, leaning you further. Or as's been said it might be raised already. Or it might just be normal ;)
