Look at this mod!! A pointy SV 1000 S with the ass of a GSX-R. I have read that they used the original frame of the SV. I like it a lot.
Does anyone maybe has more information???

Maybe I'm just strange......but I like the way my SV looks. If I wanted it to look like a gixxer, I'd have bought a gixxer. Having the forks of a gixxer is different as that is a practical mod improving handling. But why on earth try to make an SV look like something it's not. I am confused. But then again, to each their own. :D

Anyone know where I can get a GSX-R rear end............?
Ahem.
 :D
Err, the back end of the SV is one of the best things about it!

Nope. I've stared at it for 10 minutes now and I don't like it. I mean it looks okay at the very back but then it looks messy where it joins up with the tank, or in this case doesn't join up very well. And the SV looks spanking gorgeous with a seat cowl and tail tidy anyway. An interesting mod certainly but not one I will do. It's always good to see what other peeps do to their bikes though.

Its different, people like to be different. When I first saw the post, I had hoped it was the K4/5 600/750 tail with the "arrow" type lights, as they are very very nice...

Agree. It looks a bit cut n shut.
I think it would look better on a curvy...

After looking at a K5 GSX-R thou rear end and thinking how it'd look on the SV, I was really excited when I saw the thread title and could actually see what I'd been imagining for a while.
However, what seemed great in my head doesn't look too nice in reality. I've been looking at my SV's back end a lot lately (moving scottoiler, replacing snow plough etc.) and it has grown on me a lot. I really think with a colour matched undertray with integrated indicators, a hugger and a tidy fender eliminator it's one of the nicest looking "faired sporty bike" back ends I've seen.

Mmm... It's not quite there, but it could be made a lot nicer... Either take off the two bits that stick down right at the bottom, or make a cover to wrap around it (as the standard bike has), or make the "tails" longer so they go right under the tank (not as hard as it sounds)
The injected bike's tank doesn't look too good without the side covers- there's that ugly gap at the back. So that doesn't help, you can get away with one gap but not two.
Personally I really like the injected SV's tail as it is.
That looks cool, but not finished. However, nothing that an evening with clingfilm, fiberglass and a bit of thought coudlnt cure. If i had some money to throw at it, i wouldnt mind trying that on a curvey SV.

Wow, lots of criticism here....
I agree that the SV has a beatifull ass... Of course; the landing strip is one of the nicest lights on a bike ever. :P
BUT:
Respect for the guy who did this. It is a nice modification. All right, only cosmetic, but nice project. :notworthy:
