I'm looking at the ACE-37xx/38xx clocks, anyone have them on a curvey naked??

Do all the functions work like fuel, high beam and signals on the curvey naked??? Tach and Speedo?? Can you preset the odometer to your current odometer readings?? Does it have a backlight so you can see it at night?? Also any pictures of the real thing on a bike??
Cheers! :)
It says it has a backlight, you buy the correct model depending on what your old clocks had, eg. on a curvey there is no point in getting the one with hazzards as it never had it in the first place and does not have the wire to do it.
PM socommk23 he has some on his curvey.
I think they look really tacky and cheap.

The round ones look rather nice once they are on the bike...

I agree. I saw them at one of the shows, NEC i think, and the round Black ones do look pretty cool.
What about these

Or you can buy a cycle one from Argos for just a few pounds which does all the same things ( except the rpm ) and works in just the same way.
I fitted one to my DR350 to get max speed / average speed for events.

Cycle ones don't have the idiot lights... Which I think may be an MOT requirement where the indicators aren't visible. And rev counter's a bit handy too.
According to Banditmania, wiring up the Acewells to an SV is fairly simple- they've had good feedback from customers. SVs have fairly simple, "dumb looms", which means that most of the time one wire does one thing.
If the round Acewells were about 50% bigger, I'd happily call them the best thing since sliced bread. But I reckon they're just a wee bit too small to be perfect. Very clear, considering. If I do nakedise the bike, which is the long-term plan, at the moment they'd be the obvious choice.
Didn't see the round ones, yes they certainly look a lot better. Not cheap though.

£140 plus VAT's not a lot for a full set of instruments. Pretty sure the Suzuki ones would be more expensive, Veypors definately are.
To build up a set of naked clocks from the parts list costs an unbelieveable amount.
Suzuki know when they have you bent over the table ready for a sh*fting!
Plastic front £95.
Plastic backs at £45 and £15.
Speedo clock, £145.
Tacho clock, £175.
Front loom £92.
Plus, chrome domes, brackets, change of yoke to suit etc.
Eek, I think i'll stick to aftermarket. The Sigma cycle speedo i got was crap at anything over 40mph.
The chrome (plastic) dome for the rev counter cost me £38 alone!

If you add up all the money/pounds/euros for all the parts needed to make an SV you could buy 2 or 3 and still save more this way in the end.

Yeah size matters to me as well, I like mine big and round.

Not an MoT requirement. Strange and rather unbelievable I know but true. Rev counter not really an issue. The singing engine tells me when to change not the needle.

I had the Sigma speedo on my bike for several months and found that is was accurate up to approx 80mph. Which of course was just perfect, as speeds above that didn't matter, illlegal is illegal and all that. Are you sure you had a set correctly or that the magnet and sensor were meeting correctly?
Now have a K3 naked clock fitted. Total cost was around the £50 mark.
