Carb/throttle/other advice...

I'm pulling the new sv apart this weekend looking at the carbs, throttle bodies and clutch push.
Anyone got any advice? Things that might over look that I could sort while I'm there, maybe check over.
Got to pull out the air filter too and I'm getting odd power drops, though I suspect its glazin on the carbs from where it was sat up.

Take photo's before you pull it apart :lol:

When I had my SV the choke cables always used to get a bit grotty so it my be worth taking the cables out and giving them a clean and lube. Just be carful when doing this as there is a small balck plastic housing which guides the cable into the carb and it's really brittle, I broke two with mi big thumbed knuckle dragged hands!!! :shock:

What Swiss said along with, remove the choke cable from the lever end and not from the carbs. Be careful that you dont break the heaters underneath, dont forget about the idle adjuster(it catches me out)

When putting them back, just remember to make sure they are seated correctly.

No but seroiusly Dan, give the carb bowls a good clean, as they tend to collect crap, espesially if the bike has been standing, remove the slides and top caps check the diaphram for splits, also you may want to go over the petrol hoses and check for cracks, all worth doing if you have it apart.

(the bolts holding on the carb bowls are made of cheese, If you have a problem undoing some, just either cut them off flush or use a drift and hammer(or as they are so soft, you maybe able to just get a pair of mole onto the screw head itself).
if you cut them off flush when the bowl is removed you'll find it leaves about 1/4 inch of thread to grab with moles or something. I always change the bolts for allen stainless jobbies, but they are a standard size, nothing special.)

I'd also undo the carb mounting clamps (jubilee type) and lube them as they can go solid if not looked at for some time.
