OK I have a bloke coming to see the Hornet tomorrow. I was asking £3K, he says it's overpriced. What do you peeps reckon.
03 plate, black, naked, 12750 on the clock, excellent nick apart from a slightly scuffed near side R&G where I dropped it at the PFS. It has a small fly screen, R&Gs and a fake carbon fibre hugger, else it's a standard bike. Tyres are OK, plenty of life left in them. Had a 12K service done in November / December. No MOT needed till July, it's taxed till June.
I want to sell it so I will be flexible on price.
Whodja reckon?
Ed

the guide is based on about 3.5k mileage a year I think, yours been over that I'd be looking to pay nearer £2,700 if I was buying, so realistically I'd settle for anything above that.
Perhaps not what you wanted to hear Ed, but real world none the less.
he'll no doubt pickup on every tiny thing to beat the price down, so perhaps starting high isn't a bad thing, after all hes got to think he's getting a good deal at the end of the day.
as him to make an offer (which will be silly low) and work from there.
Cheers Mark

if it was overpriced he would'nt come and look at it. he just trying it on Ed.
i'd look at accepting 2850 at the lowest, my mate sold his hornet for that price
i think parkers can be miles away, they quote 4000 for a few year old VFR yet a dealer nearby is selling the same vintage for 4999!
remember he is trying to put pressure on you by saying it's overpriced, it's not yours to sell it's his to buy!
OK peeps - ta. Yes the bike has a slightly highish mileage, so I'll beflexible. I want to get rid, basically.
And d'ya know, I could have sworn I didn't have an avatar
Would you believe it. After a sunny week, forecast for tomorrow at 6 is rain  :why:

He's got to be interested at there or there abouts or he would'nt come to look. He's sounding you out to see how far you will drop,so hold out and let the bike sell itself.
Thats if he actually turns up of course.
Settle for £2750 minimum or don't sell. Someone WILL buy it at that price. You are selling it in prime time for selling bikes.
Ed, obviously someone has been horsing around with your avatar, probably being "neigh" bourly. at least if you don't want to be saddled with it you can always change it. :D
Daryl.
ps. if you'd like to form a posse for a gallop sometime just let john and i know.

Did you sell it Ed :?:
Peeps, yes he turned up. Full tour of the bike, test ride, came back grinning, then haggled like hell. And guess what. He had ridden it before - when it was up the Honda Centre. He went away to think about it, then I came along and bought it, he came back - too late matey. But he haggled like hell. We have sort of agreed the Ape price, he's gone away to get an insurance quote and Mrs approval, he's on a tight budget. So I think he'll be back tomoz. Here's hoping [-o<
ED, keeping my fetlocks crossed for you, if all else fails i'll make you a ridiculous offer for your 675 and you can keep the hornet.
Daryl
oops , i mean the 650, still,whats 25cc anyway, good luck.

Well, I'd expect jealousy from a Thundercat owner

What's the betting he comes back and says the price is "just" a little above what he can afford. Stick to your guns and take nothing less. If he doesn't buy it for the "right" price, someone will.
