OK, last day of Last years leave to take, what do you do?

No great plans last night, then I got a PM about SMX-plus boots and what I thought of them, (I'd retired mine after my accident last may as I couldn't get them on as they pressed on the open wound). I got them out, tried them on, not to bad, that's one for one :) .

Though I'd give the rest a go, and broke out the Triumph leathers, all in good nick, put them on, still fit well. that's two for two :D .

Got up this morning and went for a ride. nothing special you might think, but I got a little carried away, bit like this.

Through London – out to Harlow, Back roads to Stevenage, up to Hitchin and down across the M1 at Luton, follow my nose to Aylesbury, passed High Wycombe and over to Maidenhead, from there a short blat along the M4/M25 coming off at the A3, cut onto the B2215, and use the lanes to Shere, cross contry through Horsham to Lewes.

From Lewes up to Tonbridge, used a different route to the planned rideout , but ended that bit in Rye, across the marshes to Dymchurch then Hythe, B2068 upto the A2 at Canterbury, A2/M2, cut down the A251, coming in the back of Ashford.

From there burnt some rubber, M20-M26-M25-A22 and home.

Only about an hour and a half decent sunny weather all day, but fun never the less.

ran out of fags this morning, so rode down south to dover, got on euro star to france, got some duty free's
rode up to amsterdam , got a ferry back to scotland, then rode back to london

Spent the day compiling a report why we should prosecute someone whos spouse died last year - frankly swanning off with over 1/4 mill of taxpayers money tends so dampen my sympathy a tad. Though tbh, Im now completely convinced theyve conspired with the new partner to do the spouse in... Damn this job makes me so cynical at times. :P :twisted: :twisted:

I'd agree normally, but then I prefer the roads about 8 feet wide and without the white lines down the middle :lol:

Got out of bed...yawned for a while...booted the dog out of the bathroom so I could splash and dash.
Got dressed, fired up the 1.4 diesel fiesta, hit the B255 past bluewater, then the A2, M25...hit 90mph just before the exit at J4.
Headed north on the A21, then the A232 through west wickham. Stopped off at the Esso/Tesco next to Mc'ds for a paper, some food for brekkie and lunch then continued my journey down the A232 into Addiscombe where I stopped the car in Bingham road. Got out...walked across the mud-filled site to my warm, damp office...pulled on my hi-viz jacket and hard hat, continuing to make the residents life hell while we progress with our road closure and continued building works.

Total journey = 30miles
Time taken = 45min
Did I enjoy it :?:

I too had the day off, figured I would fit all the poncy bits to my bike that I acquired during Jack Lilleys clear out.

I woke up arround 09:30 only to find it is pouring with rain and gusting with wind, so bugger going outside and working on the bike for a plan.

So, I had some brekky, and went back to bed.

Finally got arround to doing something arround 13:00 and washed the bike, then set about fitting my new bars. Arround 20mins after doing this I figured out a dremmell is not good for triming down handlebars. So gave up, stuck the old bars back on and had a brew.

Some days were just not ment to be productive :-dd

Did my last day of my DAS course today. Did two days three weeks ago and then it got cancelled because of the poo weather and having to go around the country with work for two weeks before I could do my final day. (not quite the idea of the ideal DAS course, I know). Was faintly worried about not having ridden for nearly three weeks with my test on Thursday, but nailed it, not a major fault all day and only messed up about 6 U-turns in about the 60 I did in the afternoon. Happy days, on the basis of that I should be out to pick my SV up from the dealers on Thursday afternoon and riding the thing :lol:

I think I'll stick to my little 150 mile local circuit when the bikes and I first break out from hibernation. :oops:
