Well, to explain the subject:

I have read that quite a few have a problem where the bike goes into neutral when in second gear, which can be uncomfortable (happends to me now and then)

However, as i was going down the M4 not to long ago, i must have been in 3rd or 4th gear, and suddenly something happend.
It was exactly like it went into neutral. The engine screamed and i had a quick glance down to see if the neutral light was on (which it wasn't, and it shouldn't be able to get from 4th to neutral anyway), so that was not the case.
But the bike behaved as if i had geared down to neutral.

Anyone had this happen to them, or know anything about this?

not selecting 4th positive enuf, could maybe find you a false neutral

Used to hit false neutrals on my old hornet which was annoying but never on the SV. Only time I had a nightmare was when I thought I hit a false neutral but the chain had come off! Not recommended!

That happens to me sometimes. Usually when my chain is a bit slack and wants adjusting. Check the tension on your chain before anything else.

Also I've found that a little bit of pressure on the gear lever before you change gear helps avoid this as well.
