Anyone going?
It starts this coming Wedenesday and is a weekly event.
They usually do a BBQ too.
Fantastic roads surrounding the area too :thumbsup:

I certainly won't be going anytime soon, but maybe over the summer. Will have to see if I get the job I'm after.

I often ride to the Red Lion in Avebury. It is a beautiful place, in terms of
the countryside and neolithic stones as well as the bikes you see in the car park.
However, I've never had food there. BTW, just found this:

Red Lion is understaffed and service is poor.I took the mother in law and nan in law there for mothers day :reaper: and gotta say the food was bloody fantastic, homemade steak n ale pie was delicious....yes the service was a bit on the slow side...but then half of wiltshire and a few druids were all harbouring inside from the weather, that said though i have heard mixed reviews about the food.
I for one will be venturing up there for a shandy n a burger :D

It's not too far from Southampton so will pop out on my next available wednesday. I believe the road from Salisbury is quite entertaining :lol:

The pub's in the middle of loads of standing stones.

Ok, I'm off home and won't be back online till the morning.
I might drop into the Red Lion sometime after 7, though not sure yet.
I went up, rode past then went home. The place looked absolutely packed!!!
I ate there last summer and what i had wasn't brilliant. But then they do cater for probably hundreds of people so can't complain really.
Saw a blue SV heading off towards devizes when I was turning round.
Will deffo pop back up there, probably turn up earlier though so i don't have to wobble about on my bike infront of so many people!
should have come on in.. we were there mingling around.. I have a blue curvy with irridescent double bubble for future ref..
Lovely night to have a blat out!!

The leathers were about £300 I think but Beenz has a few of those lovely MCN vouchers that get you the cheapest item half price so give him a shout ... they were picked up to hand out. ;)

The costumes.. err sorry leathers were from Hein Gericke in Brizzle, retail price works out at £300, but the vouchers in MCN ( I have a spare or two) you get 50% off the cheapest bit which reduces the cost to £229. If you bring your licence and a very recent (last 30 days) utility bill you can also get 10 months interest free! :shock:
Let me know when you plan on popping over there and I'll bring a voucher with me. I also know the way.... which is nice :D

I didn't make it in the end. Was shattered when I left here and just wanted my dinner.
On the plus side, I did get round to ordering a new fridge last night, so after the weekend I will have cold beer.

My tennis match got cancelled due to the wife of my teammate giving
birth (actually, the teammate in question wanted to play but got the
feeling that this won't go down well at home). So I plan to turn up
today.
What time do you normally meet?
Gotta make a phone call, just been invited out for a curry with a lass I used to work with tonight, originally scheduled for tomorrow but that clashes with the MoFo Massive. Red Lion is not as appealing I'm afraid.
Will see what I can do. As a matter of interest what time are peeps going to be there?

I was going to aim for 19:30ish, but I've since had to head home from work cos I'm ill.

A good excuse was that you had a late one going to Poole Quay on Tuesday. Quite a hard ride that one, certainly on the way back in the dark on unfamiliar roads.

Me and the lad are popping over around 7 for an hour or so.
