Peeps,

Ive been arguing the toos over a claim on my bike as it was a 5month old k5 before it met its demise. It had all the fairings, hugger bungs and can and cost me 4800 however my insurance coy are only willing to pay me 3800 as they cant see it worth more anywhere on the web. Can anyone send me links to a k5 with lowers for sale around the 4k mark please so i can get back to these muppets and get more money out of them??

Cheers guys/gals

You can also use private ads or ads in Bike Trader to prove insurance settlement figures are wrong.

Buy a copy of the most recent bike trader and look through there.. theres usually tonnes of SV's up in it.

8) Good Luck.

have you looked on www.biketrader.co.uk or the MCN website ?

You realise that £3800 will buy you a new unregisterd K5 dont you ?

..

What fizz said...also, did you delacre the extras at the time of insuring your bike? If not, they are under no legal obligation to pay out at all, let alone, the value of the bike.

Ah my mistake £3800 would probably get you a K5 with 400 odd miles on it.

Have you actually looked a the biketrader website, the information you want is there.

What model and colour is your SV ?
When was it regsitered ?
What milleage does it have on it ? Do you have dealer service history ?
What condition was is it ?

Heres one (http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW/BIKES_popup.asp?modelexact=1&make=SUZUKI&model=SV&ccappr=650&min_pr=75&max_pr=&mileage=&agerange=&postcode=ba20+2ne&miles=1500&max_records=200&source=0&keywords=&photo=1&sort=5&search=SEARCH&start=4&distance=129&adcategory=BIKE&channel=BIKES&id=200614230175154)

Its up for £3999 a little more than what your insurance company have offered. With no lowers, but if you didnt declare your lowers to your insurance company I dont think you have much ground to go on to get more money out of them purely because your bike had lowers on it.

looking on auto trader you can get a brand new 2006 with 0 miles for £4099, going to be hard to get the insurance company to give you what you are after mate

Surely it's the bus insurance that is paying? They have to recompense you for the extras as well. It's only if you are claiming on your own policy that you needed to declare added value. And I keep saying it-----What about your injuries.Make the money up there as you will never get your full money on bike value.
