I have a T plate naked SV 650. Nice bike, but how the hell do you get the side panels off. I have removed both front and passenger deats. Removed the black plastic covers over the seat bolts. But the panels are still firm and not budging.

Have removed seats.
The four screws (in total) through plastic bungs under both seats, undone the two self tapers around the back of the front seat.

It still seems to be attached at the back somewhere. There is still the black cover over the back light and I think this may somehow be involved.

All help gratefullly received.
Mark.

I suggest downloading the service manual from here (http://www.sv650.org/sv_manuals.htm).

Think there is a single screw for each side panel underneath the rear seat. Ive accidentally snapped mine off when i didnt realise. It is also easier to remove the grab rail and remove the two retaining screws that hold the panels together in between the seats, (think that was what you mentioned) think you have missed the two screws underneath the bike as I said at the start, should be covered in thick layer of muck

you need to look up at the underneath (from the wheel) somehwere near the rear mud guard (roughly where the indicators are) are two little screws, you need to undo these and the carefull remove the side panels from their gromets, and bob's your uncle
