Basket...Nice one mate, a good heads up to everyone. This and Assen the only one's to be on a Saturday. Do we know the reasons for this? I guess with Qatar it is possibly religious reasons? but not sure why Assen has always been on a Saturday? :-k
Yes, thanks for the reminder.
Not be home on Saturday until around 4.00.
So its set recorder, get home, open a beer, sit down and enjoy.
Looking forward to it.

Assen is for religious reasons too. I can't remember what the main religion is in Holland (I think they may be Lutheran?) but that's definitely the reason why...
But given that the Muslim holy day is Friday, why would Qatar be bothered about racing on a Sunday?

I have now learnt that Sunday is an Islamic rest day and this is why the races will not take place then,(as was the case also the previos 2 times races were held there)
I think for say Israel,(if there was a GP there)Saturday would not be acceptable, although I type to be corrected?

I think its more traditon than anything else. IIRC I read somewhere that said about the Dutch TT was always held on Saturday and thats why the MotoGP race is on Saturday to.
I could of course be talking rubbish.
