But if anyones down that way over that time period give me a call I'll be out playing on the bike a lot (weather permittng) while my mates are diving (although periods of sobriety are likely to be brief).
Im in cardiff Friday through Sunday :D Not on the bike though

here's a suggestion. how about the welsh contingent head over the water for a change and sample the delights of our southern cousins :P I did hear that it's a nice run to stonehenge for example :o

Saturday possibly could do something.
Liz and I are talking about going to Thruxton on Sunday / Monday for BSB.
If you want to come this way. I've got a route that will take up a few hours we could do.
Meet at Bridgewater or at Podimore. Down to Crewkerne, Bridport. Along the coast road to Weymouth. Then backup to Dorchester past the cerne Giant. Then onto Sherborne and then back to podimore. Its not a massive amount of milleage. But the roads are nice.
I'm happy to lead if you guys like the sound of it.
I'll need to be back mid afternoon ish as its my dads 65th birthday that weekend and we are off out on Saturday evening.
I took Dr Rich, Haxsaw and Term round this route last summer and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sounds like a plan.... :D
Glad to not go back to the Cafe at Llandovery..... the amount of fry-ups Ive had there recently... I'll be putting on weight! though at least the front wheel has kept on the ground ;)

OK see what the others say over the next few days and then we can make a decision.
If you want me to lead you round thats cool. As for start points last time I met Dr Rich and the others here
http://www.riders-bw.co.uk/contact.htm
Bridgewater is about 30 - 45 minutes on the M5 from Bristol
Last rideout I did we met here.
http://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/hotel/hotel_id/104/YeovilPodimore
which is about 45 minutes from Bridgewater.
I think for you guys coming from Bristol it might be easier if i met you at Riders in Bridgewater and then I can lead you round from there and then take you back to Riders again to make your way home.
However Podimore would be a better start point as theres food and fuel there. Theres no fuel at riders so we'd have to go to Sainsburys and mess about there.
I dont mind either way just let me know what works best.
Once we're all sorted I'll stick a new post up with details and times etc and sticky it

I remember that place (Podimore) ... I arrived about 10 minutes after you all left... and it ****ed down then  so I got drenched all the way back up the M5 that day.. hehehe
Still, should be withing an hour and a half of travelling for me (2 tops)... will not do a stretchie on the M5 though.. well, will try and not to anyway
sounds like a plan fiz well done that man  .. count me in

Could do, but you've seen what the traffic is like in Bridgewater on a Saturday its a fricken nightmare. I just felt it was quicker to not bother with fuel and then get out of Bridgewater ASAP. I guess we could stop further round for fuel though.
OK guys which is best for a start point. Bridgewater or Podimore ?

i was just pulling up the back lane to my house and a youngster in a corsa decided he,d take the corner to quick and ran straight into me. Just rang ebike and their gonna phone a recovery company to come and pick the bike up for assessment. But it's unlikely to be before Monday  . Visible damage is fairing cracked, left hand indictor front and rear gone, gear changer snapped, possible damage to front forks, punctured front wheel. damage to myself is slight, bruised right leg, sore right shoulder, scuffed leathers and helmet.

Jez that sounds nasty. Sounds like you have got off reasonably lightly though which is the main thing.
tiggers - really sorry to hear about your off hope that you are okay and not too badly shaken up..
ebike from what i gather from others are very quick at getting things turned around so fingers crossed.

thanks Fizz & Anna, i'm not to bad, shaken up slightly, but then thats to be expected i suppose. After all you don't expect to get knocked off outside your own frigging house. I just hope there aint more serious damage to the bike and that it's economical to repair it  i'm also glad it wasn't a child on a pushbike he knocked off as the kids use our back lane as a cycle track. Guess he aint to happy after what i said and called him

Tiggers get well soon mate, from the sound of it you were lucky, bikes mend easier than bodies so as long as you're ok that's all that matters.

Good news peeps, if this run is still on for Saturday I may now be able to make it, EBike are giving me a courteousy bike tomorrow 8) don't know what at the mo so hopefully shoud be ok to make the run (thats if you don't mind a non sv rider turning up). Latest news on the SV is front rebuild needed, new fairing, indicators, gear changer and bar ends. Good news is the guy has put his hands up and admitted to his and my insurance Co's that the accident was entirely his fault. so hopefully no unneccesary delays. VB if your going let me know and maybe we can arrange a meet so we can ride up together

Yep still on for Saturday. Glad ebike are getting your sorted and that the person that hit you has admited liability that should make getting it sorted easier.

Hope you have more luck than I did when my bike was pranged last year... bloke admited liability straight off (he was reversing up a hill, and 'parked' on my bike) still took 2 months for his insurance company to send someone to view the bike and OK the repairs...

I've never been on one of these except on my old 125, would be good to join in if you don't mind me probably being the slowest/most inexperienced one.
If it's Podimore I know where it is, if it's Bridgwater is it easy to find?

Do you know I havent really worked it out  I reckon it'll be around the 120 - 140 miles mark.
There will be a couple of stops for a rest and stretch of legs and also a stop at lunchtime for some grub at a pub.
I'll also need to put fuel into the GSXR as I only get around 100 miles out of a tank full  But theres a petrol station next to the pub were stopping at at lunchtime so I suggest if anybody else needs fuel we fill up there.
Damn! I'm on a 1st aid for bikers course on Sat. Sure you don't want to make it Sunday :?: [-o<

Sorry to hear you cant make it. Catch you on the next one which IIRC is the Welsh way round. We're probably going on the welsh way round so if you wanna ride up with us that would be OK.
