"AC-DC Live", double CD (circa 1992, iirc), should get you plenty of AC-DC for a while...

Highway to Hell, Hell's Bells, Back in Black, All Night Long... to name but a few.

ah jesus no! I like all the music, but im not a great fan of ACDC's lyrics - alot of it just reminds me of dirty old men!

Still, some awsome riffs! Let There Be Rock is kick ass, as is A Whole Lotta Rosie

Cant remember anything else...?

Oh, Back In Black - the whole dam album is good (try and figure out what Giving The Dog A Bone is all about...hehe..)

Audioslave all the way!!!! (and megadeth, too!)

The cannons are good I grant you, but the Bells on Hells Bells just make my hair stand on end with the guitar combo of that intro. Awesome track and probably my fave track of theirs if Im pushed to one only.

probably their most recognised riff lynw.

what did it for me was seeing them at the big don 84 and the cannons mounted on the top of the stage above them going off at full whack. i'll never forget that.

For Those About to Rock We Salute You
 Class.

Hmm. I mean, for riffs, Led Zep I, II, and III are all absolutely animal albums.

Tool have some decent riffing going on from time to time. I am not a massive mettler though. Limited metal knowledge

For me Back in Black is a great album, spent many nights in my youth going to the marquee club in london.

Start off early evening getting in the mood by listening to AC/DC get to the club drink far too much snakebite and black. Headbang like a demented ferret, be sick.. pass out, wake up in a pool of pee. go home and repeat the process.

God how I miss those days :-)

Regards to all.
Martin

p.s. made the pee bit up..

Hayseed Dixie?

Been getting told for ages to go see them, and finally did earlier in the year. Never been to a gig with such a cross-section of punters. Fantastic toones and atmosphere.

They are headlining again a small (2000peeps) festival in Ullapool (waaaaaaaay up north  ) If anybody fancies it ,get your briefs bought now as it tends to sell out quick. Link here.............

AC/DC?

"Family Jewels" is one of the best music DVD's I have seen in a long time. Surprised I have not worn out 1st disc (the Bon stuff) with the amount of plays. No household should be without it...... 8)

I love ACDC, though I had to pretend I hated them when I was a youngster cos they were sooo uncoool!!!

I confess I stopped collecting when Bon Scott died

I just got a copy of "Live from the Atlantic Studios" (1978) which a mate picked up for me in the states

Brilliant. I had no idea it existed and it is much better than "If you want blood" (though ..blood.. has the best performance of "Whole Lotta Rosie"

Recommend it everyone

Any recommendations for bootlegs out there (pref Bon Scott era - cheers)?

Oh yes AC/DC Back in Black is a must have and to be honest I can't say that there is a bad album of theirs out there on the shelves, some say that "Fly on the wall" ain't that good but its still AC/DC.
Also one of the best live bands around saw them at Milton Keynes Bowl awesome.

I agree, his voice was less squeaky. Mind you Hells Bells is my alltime favourite and I think it was the "New Bloke"!

Mind you if you want great metal, Try the following.

Slayer (http://www.slayer.net/)
Deicide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Hoffman)
Opeth (http://www.opeth.com/)

and of course the very best (http://www.black-sabbath.com/) of all

Quote from interview with Angus Young in New York Times last week:
For this, and much else, Angus is unapologetic. “People say it’s juvenile music, but pardon me” — he speaks these last two words with exaggerated politeness — “I thought rock ’n’ roll was supposed to be juvenile. You sing what you know. What am I going to write about — Rembrandt?”

Maybe he knew what you were going to post!
