View Full Version : pillion freindly bike
The other half has given me permission to get a new bike as long as its a bit more pillion freindly than my current sv.
I need something that will still be cheap enough on the insurance but still sporty (fully faired preferred), I was thinking of cbr600f, any advice?

VFR is about the best, or an old style Faser.
With a sports type bike you tend to lean forward, which many pillions don't like.

zzr600 are very cheap and very good 2 up touring bikes.
I've got a CBR600F and yeah, the pillion seat is more comfortable than the SV, I would suggest test riding a CBR before making any decisions, obviously I'm biased towards the CBR.
Have you considered a Yamaha Thundercat? My other half used to have one of these and I used to go pillion a lot before getting my licence. Now that was a comfortable pillion ride! And the Thundercat are fully faired and still fun to ride.

Well looks like my offering went down like a lead balloon then! :? I didn't even get a slapped wrist for being silly in response to a serious question! What is the forum coming to? :? :P

Yep, same happened to me yesterday :? it must be the weather or something
The BMW F800S and F800ST look comfortable enough for the pillion. (F800S out in June I think)

I think the VFR is the best pillion freindly bike I've had, after that it was the Bandit or ZX7R Ninja (although it wheelies a little too much :) )
VFR is ever so comfy and you don't even notice the pillion after a while. I took a mate to Northampton to pick up a bike and half way there I thought he's fallen off as I did not notice. He got a bit upset when I was throwing it through the bends.......

What about a Hardley Movingson?

I would also consider a good nick Pan Am,worry more about it's condition than it's mileage. Great bikes. 8)
