Has a nice used bike test between a 2001 hornet a 99 SV, a 2001 bandit and a 2002 fazer...

The old girl doesn't do too badly but don't think the test was particularly fair being that the hornet had a hell of a lot less miles and wear/tear on it. Decent bit of info tho

June?

It's still April!

Why do they do that. Put 1-2 months ahead date on them. I think it's psychological. You think you're getting before everyone else is because it is 'so' new...

It's probably one of the joys of being a subscriber  My T.W.O's always 2 months in advance of the current month

Its about 4 or 5 lb/ft torque down on the SV isnt it, and the SV makes it a little earlier I believe.

too lazy to check though

It makes a bucket more power total though. Torque's just a reflection of power vs revs, if you make your power low down then you have more torque is all.

So true. :( Although I once got 118 miles out of a tank with optimax. Not bad for an early hornet ;)

Just ReAD RiDE.

Yes very good test and good info. Pitting a old curvy against a newer Hornet was never gonna be fair...but fair play the SV done good.

But £3000 u could find a nice pointy and game on.

First time the Thundercated Fazer got a pasting. That was the big shock of the test.

The old model Fazer is getting too long in the tooth. Great bike tho.
Nothing wrong with the Hornet tho, great engine and big fat tyre. Needs a race can and keeping in the upper rev range but can be a fun ride.
In all honesty apart from the FI they didn't make any great improvements on the markII SV, the suspension is still crap.
