Just thought I'd mention that there's a guy selling off Galfer wavy rears on Ebay at the moment for £40 or thereabouts... Just got mine the other day and it's brakey, discy, and more than a bit wavey, and so passes muster on all fronts. Also a good bit lighter than standard, largely because it's thinner. This brand new disc weighs around 8 oz less than my rather worn old one. Not that I'm likely to notice but it's nice to know.

Be careful which pads you use, (although I can't see why this would matter), if you use pads other than Galfer recommend and if the disc cracks - and wavy light discs do just that - they will give you a distinct blank if you should complain.

Even if you do use the pads Galfer recommend, I strongly recommend you keep a close, and regular, eye on the disc for any damage.

None up just now, he seemed to have a few though. They were listed as Bandit 12 but it's the same part number.

Got it bedded in with new EBC organic pads... Not very grippy pads those, but then it's the rear brake. And, well, it works while also being shiney. It's just replaced an EBC prolite rear which worked, and was not shiny by any definition of the word.

PS anyone want a very rusty prolite? :)

Just the friction surface, the rest of it's scabby as a Bandit. I've got prolite fronts atm, which work really well, but they don't have as much of the ductile iron away from the friciton bits- the rear, being one piece, is all made of the same stuff. Orrible.
