Good Idea, Might make the Cage drivers Think & HOPEFULLY LOOK out for us.

There are a few on a couple of good roads down my way - just don't ask me for the road names I haven't got a clue!

I like the neutral stance - very clever. It kind of prays on the guilty - hopefully. A cager who doens't really look out for bikes will hopefully take note - but likewise a biker who is being a bit dangerously over-exuberant will also think twice.

Hopefully.

Either way - they can't be a bad thing. Unless of course they get noticed by the grey-haired, doddering old geriatric fart who drives a Civic Type R at 20 mph MAX. They'll spend so long trying to make out what it is they'll crash anyway.

All they use to do up here was how many bikers have died on certain stretches of road so far.... not exactly confidence inspiring is it :?

i've seen them about on the A5 near penkridge.
last year on the craven arms road (near bridgenorth to newtown) there were signs with a pic of a biker and words saying slow down (or somthing like that) but the best part is it looks like the biker has got hi/her knee down

They have a few in North Wales with the Think Alive and Bike Safe logo's

Good duel edged signs as in Bikers - be careful and enjoy yourselves and Drivers - look out for two wheels

Beats putting statistics on signs

yea I like them...especially the double edged idea.

but it is a bit like the billy connolly sketch.

"beware stingers !" when he was in australia..

Hmm Im not sure about them now. Was on the way to Matlock today and a bloke in a Jeep was weaving to try and stop me from overtaking while doing this he kept pointing at the signs and waving his hand up and down in the car telling me to slow down.

Now firstly, the signs are there for cagers to make them aware of us!!! secondly it was a 60mph limit and he was doing 50mph!!!! I did manage to pass him quite quickly and thought about flicking him the bird. But I dont think that would have achieved anything . Why some people are allowed a license amazes me.

The wording is stupid. At least on the biking roads round my part of the world they say "Think Bike".

I applaud any inititive that attempts to make cagers more bike aware. but you would have thought they would have run the sign past at least one biker for comment prior to buying/installing them.

Strange word "beware". It was the motto on my local towns coat of arms, until a new pie eating chief exec was appointed. He changed 500 years of history and made it "Be Aware" as he claimed it meant the same but was less threating. Having got rid of the pie eater there is a campaign to reinstate the original motto. Maybe they should have appointed this pie eater to run the staffordshire campaign

"Beware bikers"
How is that different to "beware of the dog"
Get my drift? What are drivers meant to think

It doesn't matter. The point is, it's made them think biker, they will have motorcyclists on their mind. Whatever the reason is insignificant as far as I can see. If they think they have to watch out for two wheeled lunatics or that they need to be a bit more careful and think about bikers at junctions etc...

Also if it is read by a biker, he could possibly think it's a warning to him and as a consequence he would be more inclined to pay a bit more attention to the road ahead. Can't be a bad thing as far as I can see.

Good sign. Can be read either way. from me.
