Valleyboy. I'll be going from my house in Yeovil to Liz's and then to Matts on the Monday morning.

I can meet you at Podimore and then you can follow me to Liz's and from there to Matt's if you like ? We can go up the A30 which is more fun that the A303 to get to Liz's in Amesbury.

I wont be hanging around as I want to get my share of the BBQ food. I've seen what this lot are like in the Pub at Poole Quay

Just noticed its on a monday!

Ive put my standard can back on the bike, so hopefully no stutters anymore... so shouldnt be a problem keeping up ;)

Keh???

valleyboy
21-04-06, 03:07 PM
My bike has been stuttering quite badly under heavy use of the throttle  its only done it since Ive had the Remus on it, so in an attempt to problem solve.. I have put the standard can back on.. and will give the bike a good thrashing at somepoint over the weekend.... if the bike stutters... I have major problems... if not, then I know it will need a remap if I put the Remus back on....

_Stretchie_
21-04-06, 03:08 PM
"Under heavy throttle"????

YOU.. Yeah right

valleyboy
21-04-06, 03:19 PM
Hell, reasons you aint seen me use the throttle to the stops on my bike is it WILL rear up on its back tyre and wheelie in 1st and 2nd.... now, hopefully I can ermmm test this theory of mine out

_Stretchie_
21-04-06, 03:24 PM
REALLY?? I was being sarcastic mate.. I thought you'd set your idle speed to 13,000 rpm

valleyboy
21-04-06, 03:32 PM
Naaahhh... theres plenty more go in the engine on this thing that you lot have seen  gotta be carefull where/when its used.... as its a wheelie monster when you really dont want it to be...

will have to let you take it for a spin eventualy.... *wraps bike up in cotton wool*

Its now a pain in the ass.... cant use full throttle quickly in 1st or 2nd gear out of fear of it stuttering.. will have to pester mechanics sometime in the week if I get the chance to get over there in time!

Ive got an idea what it might be... but again, someone on the Ninja forum has the exact same problem as me, and the mechanics dont know whats causing it :?

If the mechanics were in on the weekend, Id have a chance of making it on monday.. but they dont do weekends, ever... lol

and its getting serious.. I cant go through 10,000 rpm on the bike without it stuttering badly on me.. and its going to cause an accident if I dont sort it shortly...

What do you reckon it is VB?

valleyboy
24-04-06, 05:45 PM
possibly the throttle boddies being out of balance.... I would usualy attempt to do these myself.. as they were simple to do on the SV.... slightly more involved with this thing... plus I want them to do a few other things at the same time as well... and if after they are done the problem is still around.. Im in trouble.....

the other bloke who has simular problems had his bike dyno'd... its only putting out 70HP  I dont think mine is that bad.. but its getting there.... hopefully can get it fixed... and use ALL the rev range quickly again!

VB longshot I know but what about having a remap of the fuelling done?? or possibly a dud injector

valleyboy
24-04-06, 07:41 PM
Its back on the standard can now, so theres no way it should need a re-map of the fueling... I'll get the throttles balanced anyway, as they needed doing a few thousand miles ago

Theres a bloke on the Ninja forum with the exact same problem, except he has a ZX-6R B2.. basicaly same machine give or take a bit or two.. lol

hes going to keep me updated on his problems as well.....

may have changed my mind with regards to this anyway.. Ive been out buzzing the local roundabouts for a laugh, and know exactly where to stay away from in the rev range for trouble free riding now... sadly, that means changing gear before 10K rpm.. which is roughly about the same power output as an SV at that point...

Hi there VB,notice your having a few problems with your bike.
If its any help to you if you get real desperate i can take my power commander off my bike and fit it to yours to see if it cures the problem, but its a bit of a strip down job, fuel tank off, rear cowl, seat cover, battery off etc so not a quick job but like i said if you get desperate the offer is here.

Beenz
24-04-06, 08:45 PM
VB, Don't know much about the ole throttle boddies but I guess balance is the same as for the od carb setup. One fixed and match the others to suit, if you need a spare ear (as in listening to the intake) give me a shout. Balanced carbs that way a while back.

I am (almost) definitely going to be there. Was hoping to farm the kids out and bring Mrs Ape as well, but doesn't look like that is going to be possible. So I'll probably be coming on my own.
