November 2005: Northwind finally gets down to the respray. Figures it should tkae a month
16th April 2006, 01:30: Northwind finally finishes the respray, bar polishing and finishing some panels
18th April 2006, 17:50: Northwind fails to put the sidestand down right for the first time in 20,000 miles and drops the thing. One side panel and mirror now needing resprayed...

Someone is going to pay for that. It's entirely my fault, so I'm looking for an innocent victim. You, you'll do.

Nah, got a spare side panel and I can redo the mirror pretty quick... Though I might be leaning on Big Al for a hand... But shh, don't tell him, I've not asked him yet ;)

But b***ocks anyway!

Oh - my - god!

What's gonna be next?

You must be gutted. I think I'd cry if it happened to me. I still have the deep joy of respraying to do, but it seems likely to get put back to the end of this year.

I know it's small consolation, but if we compile all of your posts of this type on the Org - I think we could get a publisher interested!

Maybe a film contract? Not seen much of him lately - perhaps this is just hte project Jim Carrey has been waiting for?! :?

Seriously though, I feel for you. I'm not looking forward to taking off the fairing from the Blue Blade just to put on new downpipes - I just know I'll do something to screw them up.

That's bad luck.

If it makes you feel any better I once forgot to take the disc lock off my GSX600F and dropped it ... twice ... in one day ... on different sides.

Hope it's not too much hassle to touch up.

Argh bad luck mate! I forgot my *expletive deleted* disc lock on my first large rideout this year a few days back and dropped it GRRR. But not as bad as my mate who went on the ride with me. We went across to bewdley way, and decided to head up through some small roads near Kinver. I headed up one track which rapidly got muddy and I heard a crack and she was off on some mud. Dented tank and snapped bung and brake lever. So I hauled the bike off her, and we limped home with her having no rear brake and a muddy bike. Worst thing was, we get to her house no house keys! She had left them on the verge of the farm track in the middle of nowhere!!

I hate disc locks, they are the cause of 75% of my bike accidents so far!!!

It fell off a while back, takes after its owner. I've grown quite attached to my little red cross though.

unlucky mate, similar thing happened to me on an old bike - just had fairing resprayed. Maiden journey with it on - put the bike into gear and went to pull off my drive to find that it was still in neutral and i ended up tipping off.
