Hi folks,

Just wanted to guage a little opinion.

I'd like to buy a Helmet Bag to protect my beloved Arai (the cardboard box it came in has had it!)

Partly to keep clean and safe when stored and also to carry around, e.g when I'm on the Ferry this June on the way to Bilbao (can't wait!)

Found these options:

1) http://www.helmetbags.com/
£21.50

2) http://www.worldofpower.co.uk/acatalog/Biking_Accessories.html
£9.46+del

Not sure if this is any different to 1), difficult to tell>??

3) http://www.dzsports.com/z1bag.html
Looks a bit odd and more expensive again

4) http://www.rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO_Bags_1918/Sparco_Helmet_Bag_383.asp

Looks well made, but doesn't tell what lining it has.

5) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4630690467
Branded, but doesn't look that protecting....

I'd be interested to know what (if anything people have), and what is thought of the above options.

Thanks!

Had a couple of these sorts of bags when I was racing, mainly to stop scratches in the boot of the car. First one I had was a like contestant number 2, nylon with sheepskin lining. Worked fine.

Second one was similar to contestant number 4, but had a visor pocket built in, which was very useful for carrying spares around, plus it had loads of pockets for all the things I'd usually forget to pick up (licence, tickets etc. :P )

Basically, you pays your money, you takes your choice. Just bear in mind that none of these bags (except maybe number 3, not sure) are going to protect the lid if it gets dropped or kicked etc, they'll stop the scratching, but not do much to lessen the impact.

Looking at this one again I realised that it has no "soft" lining in, I always used the soft bag you get with some lids.

Contestant number 2, actually has free delivery, and also subject to 5% discount if bought online.

Now, I'm really interested to know what the difference other than £ is between 1) and 2)....

Tempted to email helmetbags.com and ask them! (Though this is a bit cheeky really!)
