Do we have a dentist in the house????

I have got horrid toothache in my lower left incisor, caused I think by over-zealous brushing, such that the gum has receded, leaving a gap tween the gum and the enamel. It hurts - a lot - and it's driving me crazy. Anyone got any cures, quack or otherwise [-o<

pliers, string and a door handle... loosen with pliers, tie string to the offending item tie other side of string to door handle.... Kick door shut...

Bit of brandy held over the tooth use to work on the pain for me.
Get one of those oral B 3D leccy toothbrushes from now on, stops you brushing too harshly. Flossing will help reduce any inflammation if you dont already.

Go see a dentist!

Cheers Mark.

As a kid I was made to chew whole cloves.. Didn't taste nice but did the bloody job. Get theself down to Tescos and buy some now, they'll be in the spice section

I suffer with this as well.
This is what I do to manage/combat it.

Change my toothbrush as soon as the bristles start to curl up at the edges so not to agravate it (Tried one of these sonic toothbrushes, just made mine worse)

Use something like sensodyne toothpaste if it gets to painfull, but normally use a good toothpaste that fights gum disease and tartar etc (Colgate Total works well) as its actually plaque and crap that is knackering your gums.

Alway use a good mouthwash

:D

If its really painfull then probably best see your dentist anyway.

I used to have to go to my local the night before my dentist visits, just to make sure my dentist would not be shakey with the drill in the morning.

Changed dentists once and after his initial checkup. Please book 6 half hour appoints with reception. 18 fillings. ouch.

I still have an NHS dentist. am I a rareity?

Knew I could rely on the org for appropriate suggestions. Will do the lot (apart from the door & string) as it's hell on earth today.

Dentist = hassle (need to book an appointment) and £££££££££££ but there seems to be no alternative as this is driving me nuts.

Try applying clove oil to the troublesome tooth until such time as you get to see the toothwright.

In my experience pain will cease on making the appointment
