My bike has just been knocked over in our work car park.

Bent clutch lever
Front fairing
Rear fairing
Bent clip on
Generator cover
Indicator
Mirror

That's what I can see. Dunno about the subframe etc.

How I laughed.

If so, don't forget to move out of camera range when you catch the one who did it... :?

Bummer, I've been watching mine all afternoon, parked outside our office in Bexhill town. The town is full of doddery old fools, who should have given up driving 10/20 years ago. I'm a bag of nerves :?

You know who did it? Any chance of checking out bumpers tomorrow morning?

:laughat: the person who did it when scoobs catches up with them

And after the day you were having yesterday too mate

It's OK. I know who did it. Luckily it was at knocking off time and some friends of mine watched the bint (no offence but I am angry) knock it over. She came back into reception and they called me.

What's done is done. She is insured, they will have to pay up. Simple as.

Well, at least there's something to hold on to.
Which doesn't take away your right to be utterly p*ssed off, anyway. I know I'd be...

The previous scratches were minute. You had to look really hard to see them. They are just bugging because you know they were there.

TBH I would much rather this didn't happen. Insurance sucks.

True, but at least the guilty party has put their hand up, and you're not left wondering who did it and paying every last hurtful penny yourself.

*Well...H*nda, but the chain adjusters are nicely free.

For which I am eternally gratefull

Just priced all the damage up. £466 + VAT not including the left and right fairing panels. Not sure how much they are. I think I will need new fairing brackets as well. They look bent. Can't imagine they are more than a tenner each side. Guessing I won't get too much change out of £400 for two fairing panels. So nigh on a grand inc VAT I reckon.

Oh well.

If its any consolation, at least youre not hurt - better this than being taken out on it imho. And at least she stopped and came in and didnt try to drive away. [someone I know is in hospital again having had another accident so Im writing this with that in mind atm :( ]

Gutted for you but bikes fix, especially when the other person has insurance.

Jeez bummer Scoobs - I liked your bike from the bits I saw of it accelerating away from me  sounds like all fixable though and at least not out of your wallet. am paranoid about similar happening to mine (luvverly shiny and new) and by sounds of everyones stories it;s only a matter of time before some eejit bumps you. or i could do what a mate has done and taken it off the paddock stand with the side stand up...

Bummer mate!

Same happened to me a few weeks back.

You have my full sympathy.

Hopefully it will work out a bit cheaper than you say, (but it meant I had to cancel my holiday!!)

It's ok, not all car drivers are out to knock your bike on it's side. I for one have never had my bike fall over because of anybody else.
Drops that I caused are a different matter, I've done loads of them.

Bad luck dude, I got the impression you weren't exactly having a good week as it was. Hopefully she'll back in good condition for the summer, though.

Well I have reported it and everything this morning. Due to it having a bent clutch lever it is considered to be un-roadworthy, therefore, I am being given a hire bike. Think I'll go for a 'blade then!

hopefully you won't get the same result as the flood victims got when the company car park got flooded (insurance didnt cover most on the privately owned car park

Its a serious point though scoobs... tell her that if the insurance doesnt cover it, you will persue it through court unless she coughs up front.

Sorry to hear this. Glad you found out who it was/they had the decency to come forward. When my bike was damaged in work's car park, I never got to find out (well, for certain, I have a pretty good idea who it was; just no proof). I know how frustrating it is. Even when it's cut and dry and their insurer is paying out, it's still a faff to do the assesment of damage, get repair quotes, fill in the forms etc.

For exactly this reason i'm now in the habbit of taking a picture with my phone of the cars parked either side of my bike. That way i have a record of all the info i need but dont waste time writing things down etc.

If i come back and my bikes down and one of those cars has gone then i know who to claim from. Far too many inconsiderate and bad rivers out there to not be careful.
Or i park on the pavement and take my plate off. :D
