I did Norwich and back (220 miles) on Wed, and have come to the colclusion that either my bum is too skinny, or the Sv's seat is pants!!!
The girlfriend complained about the pillion after 3 miles of urban (yes, I know; get a seat cowl)
Are there gel seats available for the k3?
Blummin lovely run though

I bought my K3 a few weeks ago off Mutley on this forum. He had the seat sent away to be filled with Gel. Don't know where he sent it though.
Kind regards
Tim
Ever thought about making you own....?
Look Here (http://www.itrocks.com/motorcycles/gel_seat.htm)
same principle in general, and cheaper too.
ive done 200 mile runs before on a gel seat and a sore a*se has never been an issue. Gel is great

Yes Suzuki do one, best 100 quid I ever spent on my bike!
Have a happy bottom now!
:D
my mate had a gel insert and a reshape of a curvy seat done by motorbikeseats in Coventry. A tad expensive I thought, so I simply copied the shape and left mine in plain foam.
There's little difference between the 2, but both are vastly more comfy than the standard, so I reckon the most important thing is the shape.
What I have is a curve scooped out, about 1" lower in the middle (looking from the side), with the front and rear edges left as original.
Easy DIY job.
A hacksaw blade works well in sculpting the foam. All you need is a good staple gun (Arrow etc) and hold the base firmly against something heavy (workbench) or the staples bounce and don't go right home.
You don't need a gel seat you just need a fat ****!!!!

Bought a 'Proper' Suzuki one for the front from Fleabay for about £12.00 posted just before crimbo...Bluddy luvverly
Made on for the rear with 2 hacked gel wrist rests.....and it works a treat. Now we don't have to pull over every hour or so for a walk about. Cost £2 for the wrist rests from 99p store in town and i borrowed a staple gun. Can barely tell there in to look at but you can definately feel them 8)

I've remolded mine, using a memory foam pillow! Just took the cover off and cut about an inch of foam off the seat using a scapel. Cut the memory foam to the right shape and squished it down a bit. Staple gunned it and hey presto, comfy seat. Looks good! :D I did the back seat as well as my little boy felt he was sitting on a board...I didn't do such a good job of that, so I'll have to unstaple it and move the padding around...grrr... couldn't tell I did it wrong until I stapled it all up. :?

Jaquie - tell me more: where'd you get the foam from? How much did you cut away? how did the cover look when you put it back on? has it sagged with use? Photos? etc etc.
I need either a Gel seat or new padded **** because this is hurting badly on journies over 20 miles in length........

Yeah, It's like sitting on a board ain't it:?
I got a memory foam pillow from ebay a while back...I didn't use it much so I thought I could put it to better use!
I doesn't sag as it's memory foam, which last for years and it looks OK. I didn't think to take photos, but as I've got to do the back one again...I'll take some
When you cut the seat foam, have a few blades spare as they get blunt really quickly. I cut a huge chunk out of the front seat, cutting in at a slant almost 3cm....about 1cm from the front and about an 3-4cm in from the back. The sides I cut where it contours at the edge...a sideways cut following the depth I started at the front. I rested the seat on the foam and traced around it...helps to have 1cm overhang as you can trim it thin and lay it over the edges for a nice smooth finish. I used the whole thickness of the pillow and slanted the cut just to round it off a bit...memory foam is easy to cut with dressmaking scissor as you can squish it down.
You have to be brave!!! Helps to have a Vodka (or two)
Jax (who must sort her GPz305 indicators and install the inlet rubber and not keep taking such long tea breaks and browsing the forum!!!)

It's not on their web-site though  Would love to replace both the main seat and pillion, but I'm wondering if it's worth sorting out the suspension to get rid of the issue?
What's going to be cheaper?
