Ah well, just think, if it had been a 'Harley chick' on the back of her man's hog, she'd have been wearing a halter top and teeny-weeny shorts.

Quick question. (And I KNOW I'm opening up a can of worms here and there'll be all kinds of SERIOUS DEBATES after this..) If a GORGEOUS girl at work wants to come out on the back of youer back for a bit... ARE YOU going to nip to Heins Beans Gerikes and shell out 400 quid + for some gear for the day????
(Ducks, hides and gets ready to sit back, laugh and point at the holier than thou's  )

I suppose the threat of gravel rash is nothing compared to the whip-lash from all the tassles...........
ha ha, that was the amusing thing. The lass wasn't exactly "slim" and her legs were kinda the size of my body, and the skirt was this really nasty green thing, halfway up her thigh.
I could have got a right good view but i really had to turn my head before I was sick...... I could just imagine the spiders legs dangling already

In all seriousness, I took a lass out the other week, she was wearing jeans and about 3 jumpers and I didn't really feel right like that. Hell I've only been out once non leathered up ( make of that comment what you will  ) and that was only a 3 mile trip on normal city roads and I felt uncomfartable.....
Having said that I think that....
This.........

Has the right idea.
Infact I think I've formed a new view, I'd tell her that pillion passengers have been researched and it has been deemed MUCH safer for the pillion (don't forget we are talking about firm, sexy ladies here) to ride infront of the rider but facing backward with legs wrapped around the rider..

Ok, anyone wants to know what happens when the only protective gear you wear is a lid and you come off at 100mph can click the link.
Both forums indicate its not entirely work safe, but its a sobering warning and why I at least wear my gear.
PS the pics are taken after 2 1/2 months after the accidents, requiring her to have had 9 operations - all skin grafts from what I gather. :(

Oh and this is why I wont take pillions unless they have appropriate gear on.

Liz has got her own bike :D 8)
I've taken a few pillions if they arent wearing the same level of kit as I am then they dont go on the bike simple as.
Imade my other half buy her gear. She wants to come on the back, suit yourself up.
She now has trousers, a good jacket with good padding, helmet, gloves and recently we got some new boots for her...
Although i think I did buy her jacket for her

I'm sure peeps know that 100mph plus skin plus tarmac =not good.
Like the young lady said 'I'm a big girl and I make my own decisions, even if they turn out to be bad decisions'.
Very considerate as well :(
Because I ride myself, I had my hands on the gas tank as the passener instead of wapped around him. Two reason for that: 1. I was bing kind to his genitals, I knw that Sheit aint fun when you gotta slow down at a fast rate and the bitch on the back slides into your seat and crushes the boys. :?

The visor on my helmet came open at about 120mph and jerked my head back, and since I wasn't holding onto him i went right off the back
Pretty good reason to buy a half decent lid as well.

I took my girlfriend out on the bike once before she got kit. Made her wear jeans, hiking boots, a heavy coat and lent her my back protector and spare lid and gloves. That was, IMO, enough for her to gauge if she liked it enough to buy her own kit and I said I wouldn't be taking her out on the back again until she had proper kit. She has now bought a set of textiles & some gloves and has come out a few times. Once we move in together (we're still keeping the fact she comes pillion secret from her parents), she'll come out more often and I'll make her buy a back protector and proper boots and her own lid.
I can't criticise those who don't wear leathers for a quick "nip across town"; I do it occassionally, in spite of having come off once in jeans and a jacket. [-X :)
Emm.. how did you work out she was not wearing a half decent lid ?

My mate col who crashed at 50 mph in Sept 04 had a top of the range Arai lid on when he crashed. The chin bar (it was a fully formed all in one lid) sheared off the second he struck the concrete... he was then run over by the car and trapped.
He died about 20 mins later whilst we were waiting for ambulances etc to get to us.
Just cos a helmet is top of the range, doesnt mean it WILL definately hold its form in the event of a crash.

I wear full leathers most of the time, but sometimes I just wear jeans and a t shirt. That's my choice and the clothing nazis can kiss my hairy crack.
