Lads & Lass's
I have booked myself on to the Emergency Aid For Motorcyclists - St Johns Ambulance
It turns out that at the moment, I'm the only bod that has booked
Its on Sat 10th June from 09:00 to 13:30 at the Carlisle venue (its the closest to us)
Anybody interested, its only approx 80-90 miles and could either stay overnight or just go there on the morning (only takes 1hr:10 mins from Carluke)
Its £45.00 inclusive
Any takers as if they dont get enough bods, they will cancel ?

I can't get there... But if you do go, suggest they get something up here. I don't know what numbers they need but I'll guarantee them at least one.

I was paramedically trained in a past life...I'm just wandering what you learn.
Taking off helmets? Dr ABC?
Calling 999 is still the important thing.

Hazel - Just checked St Andrews there, they do a couple of courses, Emergency First Aid & Emergency Aid for Appointed Persons Course which both cover a lot of stuff but methinks it might be better takin the one in Carlisle since it covers helmet removal etc, also some of the lads down South have done it recently.
Northy, yep, they will do a course up here but its 450 quid so would need minimum 10 bods to sign up to keep the price sensible (or 20 bods=buy one-get one free  )

Scooby why not try to get 10 bods up here for a course Rather than 10 to go down there you might get a better response.....maybe

Me and Quedos would both do a local course if it was specifically for bikers, so make that another 2 for the prospects list. Like Nutty, I've done the "Big" course and the subsequent refresher for work. I did ask St Andrews, but recon it takes a biker within the organisation to get something happening.
Cheers,
Garry

Tony, if 10 bods get the old cheque book out then the peeps will come up here & take a course, at least thats what it says on the info I received from them

How much is it? You wouldn't think 10 would be hard to get.

Northy, they said 1 days off site tuition/course would be charged at 450 per day + vat
so the course would be 45 + vat (not 45inclusive as I said previously - sorry) 52.87 in total per person
Hey, if we could get 20 bods then its still only 450 for the day therefore half price :)
Lastly... if we get 450 people then it would be a pound a skull

Just noticed last night that Lancashire Ambulance Service run a similar course called "First Bike on the Scene"
Anybody done either or both ?
Any differences ?
Any opinions on which one would be best or is it possibly 6 & 1/2 dozen ?

As you know Rab, I'm even more interested in this course now.
See "An Interesting Weekend" for details.
