View Full Version : Exhast mount?
Do you need to use the bracket you get with an aftermarket end can (the bit that goes around the can and fits to the bottom of the footpeg)
Just taken mine off and it seems very stable without one, and looks better imo.
I would say so. I thought that, when I mounted my CCC, how stable it looked, but I should imagine when your riding it, it'd vibrate loads and 'bounce' a lot. (Can't think of right words tonight)! The strap stabilises it a lot, basically..

the bracket i was sent by scorpion was the wrong sixe for my end can and is very looses. It doesn't give any support to my end can and it bounces about and vibrates looses from the link pipe, its come off twice so far and i have to check it before i use the bike to make sure it is tight and doesn't wobble.
If i were you, i'd use it, don't want to think what would happen if the end can came off whilst doing any speed  . I've got a new one on order, just waiting for it to come through.

Yes, you need it fitted.

Depends on the exhaust and can, but almost certainly yes. If you've got a 4 inch stubby bolt-on can on an SV thou, then you might get away with it. I've ridden around with mine just held on by the pipework and springs, but it's a lot more solid than any SV slipon. Even then, the amount of extra vibration and flap probably plays hell with it.
