This is probably really old, but I finally looked at Google Earth, and you can see my bike :D Well, you can see my house, and you can see where my bike's parked when it's not in the garage, and there's a vague blur where it goes, but that's good enough for me.

yup. You can see the back garden of my old mans place in Dublin, with the patio half torn up, big red wheel barrow in the middle of the garden, and a ton of sand in the corner. Which means I know exactly what day the sat came over the house, and roughly what time.

I cant see me there though  Must have been on a tea break or something.

Allegedely they can resolve down to the level of reading a number plate, from space. Which, is pretty reasonable in fairness.

Have you noticed though, that wherever you look in the world there aren't any people

People are a bit small for the resolution in the euro maps... Never looked at the US ones though. Try places where people wear large hats?

People generally move about.
the exposure time might make most moving things vanish into an extremely faint blur...

Which possibly means you were probably on a tea break for a some time as nothing had moved!

Then again, the exposure time would probably be seconds rather than minutes.

I can zoom in really close to my house, but as you say no people.
There are however some black spaces where cars were and obviously moved..
