my bike passes its MOT with a bit of tape stuck to the lights every year... No problems... I'm that lazy that this year I haven't taken it off yet...

what I do is with the bike on a padock stand (not essential) I shine the lights onto the inside of our garage door so I can see the angle of the incorrect dip...

I then simply move a small piece of card about the lens till the light doesn't shine up on the right hand side, take a mental note of where the card is on the lens, and then stick black tape over the area noting whether the light has been blocked off...

i then carefully cut the tape back to the minimum required and hey ho. My bike passes its MOT...

I'll try and get you a piccy to give you an idea... Give me Ten minutes...

That's what I did last year too. The tape was slightly off though, so there was still a bit of an incorrect dip, but he passed me anyway. A very decent fellow :D

This has got to be a first some one replacing a uk spec headlight with a euro one.
On a serious note the bulb shines a beam off the reflector you could try blanking out the bit of the reflector that dips the wrong waywith some nail varnish, I've heard of this being done but not seen the results.
