don't know if anyone remembers but about two months ago our beloved eight year old cat called mystic just disapeared (like they sometimes do?). she never did come back and the kids and lil lady were all pretty cut up about it. still are to be honest.

well, maybe right or wrong, a good buddy at work has offered me two kittens from his last litter of british short haired. they are a cream colour and only five weeks old. he is hanging onto them till they are 10 weeks old to get them inoculated and make sure everything is ok with them.

myself and the thunderdragon saw them for the first time last week and they are cute (yeah i'm a big softy) :). we told the kids and they are over the moon but expressed how sad it was for mystic.

as you all know, have to move on so we'll spoil these little cuties till they start ripping the house to threads :D .

whilst out on the trusty steed today i felt compelled to pop in pets r us (somethin like that) and found myself looking at scratch posts, beds etc  :D :D

i wanted a pet cobra, scorpion type thing but noooooooo we have to have kittens  mind you......they have to put up with our ozzyhttp://upload3.postimage.org/205601/windermerenozzy016.jpg (http://upload3.postimage.org/205601/photo_hosting.html)

Kittens are awesome, there even sweet when they start chewing/pulling any possible lose threads in the house.

Climing the curtains is a big nono though

Are two cats latest trick is undoing the sofa covers when your not watching

Is anyone elses cats facinated with any relfected light from watches, cds etc. Ours see it for a few seconds and will spend the rest of the day looking for it.

Wow, I never knew all parrots were really Goths at heart. Hey, you learn something everyday!

Kittens are cute, but cats - meh - I had some real characters when I was growing up and nothing has really measured up since. I prefer dogs.

Spider was the tinyest little black cat ever and was agrophobic. He wouldn't even come out in to the middle of a room through choice. If you carried him outside he'd be quite relaxed, as long as he could bury his head in your armpit!

Vinny was the biggest long-haired ginger tom ever, and it was all muscle dude! He lived on my bed, when he wasn't out chasing, beating up and generally terrorising nextdoors two Dobermans. He hated dogs with a violent passion.

Then there was Snoopy, escape artist extrodinaire - in reverse! How that cat got into some of the places we'd have to rescue him from was unbelievable. We'd regularaly have to pop the bonnet of the car before driving off to check he hadn't gotten up into the engine bay again!

Now I know most cars these days have CATalitic converters..

lol you lot seriously crack me up :D . quiff, ozzy n flowers do kind of look nice......never noticed. you are absolutely right in suggesting parrots self harm. they can do this for any reason but i will be spending a lot of time with him.

i do this already. he sits on me shoulder in the shower. follows me in the kitchen to make the tea. his favourite tune he whistles is the theme tune to the adam's family (sums my tribe up a treat) :D .

serious thing getting kittens. thunderdragon has had me re-decorate the lounge, hall stairs and landing so far. well, i had been treating the sv to a few bits over winter.....as you do

seriously though, it will be a gentle progression for the kittens and our ozzy. we did this with mystic and our last cockatoo Kiki so they'll all be well looked after.

the things you do to get out on the bike for a bit of peace and quiet :D (posts thread and runs as thunderdragon floats into room) .

thanks for the kind comments by the way, even the non-cat lovers.

here's one for you, looking for names for the little terr--oops, angels. a boy and a girl.............c'mon then. and keep it clean :D :D

I wanted to call our kittens Tiger and Bonnie, but Mrs Wyrdness put her foot down. So they ended up being called Speed Triple and Daytona (only joking).

I hate cats... But kittens are ace. Just clever enough to be engaging, just fearful enough to survive and no more... Brilliant. You should hire it out to people who awnt to play with a kitten but don't want to look after the things.

lol, now theres an idea

leaving the names to the tribe. my eldest wanted to call one of them fizzgig :-k think not. weve had rhubarb n custard, princess n lara (after lara croft- one of them is into everything), bonny n suzi to name a few.

there were four from the litter that were ok. sadly another had passed away after it was born bless it. my mate has decided he is going to have the two boys as they are quite a bit smaller and he's grown attached to them. one is blue and the other cream.

the two ladies as you can see are cream with very fine stripes. having to make the house as kitten proof as i can in preperation of the great arrival  :D

There's nothing wrong with Fizzgig.

I wanted one when the Dark Crystal came out!

To me they look like candidates for the names Pom Pom and Fuzz Ball.

Kittens are brilliant.
Cats are clever, but selfish

My cats now 21 years old!!!! She still looks quite young and healthy tbh. We're still amazed. Got her when i was 4 years old. Shes lost all her front teeth, has an over active theiroid but shes still going strong. Need to be a bit more gentle with her now. Shes just a plain black moggy.

We also had a Russian Blue that was given to us. Soft as poop this thing. If you never shut the toliet door he'd wander in and jump on your lap.. When you sat on the sofa he's come up, sit down, roll onto his back as if to say "tummy tickle time". He was great, but got hit by a car :(

I love cats, but when it comes to getting a pet, i think i'll go for dog.

Love the parrot too.

Amanda, cat looks a cutie

Fizz :D

Daimo, sorry to hear about your cat being knocked down. to be honest i think thats what may have happened to our mystic (see original thread).

up until recently we had a cockatoo called kiki but he kept attacking the wife quite viciously. if anyone has ever been bitten by a bird it hurts.......a lot, so he had to go bless him.

considering yrs ago i could take or leave animals, i've become quite the convert.

there's talk of chinchillas flying around the house....I DON'T BLOOMIN WELL THINK SO =; =; 8-[. glad i've joined a fishing sindicate  :D

Apparently Chinchillas live for like 20 years or so, long term pet commitment there.

Mind you, aren't parrots supposed to live a similar length of time.

My Python's 12/13 years old and still going strong - average lifespan of 15-20. Though I do have one pet that is likely to out live me with any luck - Trogdor, my tortoise! Only 3 at the moment and was smaller than a credit card when I first got him.

don't know about chin chillias but parrots can live up to the ripe old age of 60-70. scary aye :D.
