Hi all, im new and i thought id introduce myself

ive not got an SV at the mo but an looking at getting a sv650s in the near future. Ive got an unfaired bandit 600 at the mo and have only been riding a few months. i just fancy somthing with a bit more wind protection, but not a total sports bike and the SV looks about right

see you all around

Hello

Don't need a fairing, wind blast builds character (and neck muscles)

Get a SV anyway though (a nice nekkid one obviously).

:D :D :D

Hi.Headlamp fairing?

i had thougth about it, but ive got a twin headlamp conversion on it and it just wouldnt look right.

i really dont want to get rid of the bandit as i love it, but any more than 50 miles on it and ive had enough of the wind blast

Hi Marshall.

I joined about 3 weeks ago and its a great site and great forum...

As for the SV, I upgraded from a W-reg GSX600 (basically a faired Bandit I've been told) and I'm VERY VERY HAPPY!

If you're looking at buying second hand I can recommend a good used bike checklist which was very helpful to me.

Welcome to the SV massiv!

Cheers Terence that would be grand!!

my only worry with the SV is its a bit smaller than my Bandit, and im quite a large chap!!

6 foot 2
18 1/2 stone
Large

and im wondering how comfortable the SV is going to be compaired to the Bandit.

I rode my mates '97 GSXR 600 and i really didnt like that pegs far too cramped and bars way to low, i think i need to get a test ride on one first!

Checklist (http://www.clarity.net/~adam/buying-bike.html)

Unfortunately not SV specific but pretty thorough.

As for your largeness, I wouldn't know... I'm 5'10, 11 stone and the SV fits me just right. My impression of the SV versus the GSX is that I sit a bit closer to the tank and handlebars (and therefore a little bit more upright), but that the handlebars are a tad lower. Still about a comfy as the gixxer though, no complaints.

A test ride, or at least test sit, is the only way to go to be sure.
