Nice one, wrong colour though :lol: jokeing!
Running in, its natures way of teaching you to get to know the bike before you get to really love it. I'm sure you'll have loads of fun.
Lucky you!

Right then. A review as promised. Just got back from a few fun hours out on the new ride. What can I say except What a freaking a beast of a bike. Jezzus I aint had such a big smile on my face since I got married 8) 8) . This bike is totally different from the SV (sorry guys and gals). Even though I couldn't push it over 5k on the revs it purrs, it pulls, and it even left a Porsche boxer(sp) for dead on a set of lights :twisted: . The induction howl is gods music. Cornering is superb (and I aint Rossi :oops: :oops: ) and you gorra watch that right hand cos the fornt wheel tends to rise oh so easy :P :P . I thought it would be a hard ride (test rode an 06 model and hated it). The 05 model is comfortable, the riding position aint to harsh. it goes like sh*t of a shovel . this bike is a serious bit of kit. Fraser I gorra tell you man you GOT TO get this bike. I can't say enough good things about it. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Being gentle on running in is old school. If you want top BHP then be gentle for first 50 miles to run of all the burrs. Then change oil and filter and make sure it is ordinary mineral oil. Now give it some welly for the next 500 miles. This way the rings will get properly bedded in and the ring grooves wont be caked in soot and oil sludge. Race engine producers have shown that this makes a big difference, by as much as 10% power difference or more. A recent article in the bike press also showed that gentle running in hardly made any difference to the overall lifespan of the engine.
So in my opinion, Go for it!
wow cool looking bike (if your into that sort of bike ;) ).. wrong colour though..
Go gentle on the thing and we will see you on it on the welsh way round.

Thought it would be easier to high jack this thread than start a new one (sorry) well test rode a 2005 R6 today....
My verdict;
This bike is mind blowing, it was easy to corner and it has a phenominal engine that is more than eager to please. I absolutely loved it and at £5'799 new, it was a steal. This aside...i won't be buying one..after 30 minutes my wrists were soar and i couldnt feel my groinal area, not to mention my backside. As much as i love this bike i am going to have to look else where. :cry:
I rode the CBR600F for an hour after, but i wont comment on that as i know its already been talked about.
