Just wanted to share with you something that happened on Saturday, as I still smile when I think about it.

Pete and I were on our way down to Cheltenham to visit some friends, and just as we were leaving Rugby we caught up with a Police motorcyclist. We followed him out of town and down to the start of the Fosse Way. We could see him checking us out in his mirrors, and as we hit the deristricted signs he upped the pace and shot off. Pete hesitated...............for all of two seconds..............and then followed him.

For the next 25 miles we definately 'made good progress' :D

We finally parted ways at a roundabout and got a cheerful wave from the cop.

I just thought that was so nice. The guy was obviously enjoying the ride as much as we were. :D

True, hit them again and again eventually they die, "It's life Jim, but not as we know it"

Bike Cops take note; a simple action like the wave lissa described, or returning a "nod" takes no effort at all and does wonders in terms of restoring respect for the police that the scamera partnership has erroded.

to be fair, every bike cop i've nodded to has resulted in a returned nod. occasionally they've instigated the nodding :D

About 50:50 for me. There is on particular bike cop I see regularly though (from the time of morning, it almost looks like he commutes on his work bike) who always waves.
