Well i am home dripping wet after a majorly disappointing day. I can understand why it was cancelled as the riders safety is paramount but the expense, travel etc etc is still a bit disheartening.
I saw a good few sv's with northern plates, wonder were they members of the site??
The weather has been bad - the last two Mondello meetings were wet too :(
Not the nicest of places, but it must have been bad for the organisers to call it off. I hope it is dry there next Sunday these ribs dont need bounced off the tarmac for a while :)
Do you ever go to any of the races at Kirkistown - the next one is on 3rd Jun
I saw a few SV's coming down the M3 from Carrick way yesterday morning about 8.30
So D_S its into the bath for you, and a big whisky to keep the chills out. :D :D :D

cheers mate....
I following the racing to most events track, road, BSB, and this year WSB and motogp..
I'll be at kirkinstown on the 3rd 8)
I took my 2 boys on the Saturday and had a good day. The weather was a mix of sunshine and cloud but it remained dry.
Had a BBQ that night but woke to the sound of rain on the roof of the tent.
It just got worse after that.
Cleared the tent - dry things in the back seat, 1 soaking wet tent into the boot.We then all had a quick wash and headed over to the circuit where we continued to get wetter and wetter. Took shelter in the pub for a while but soon realised the possibility of a cancellation.
We then headed towards the gate only to hear it being cancelled over the speaker system.
Back to the car and out of the campsite no problem. The N7 was jammed and then the run onto the M50 and up to the toll and torrential rain thrown in for good measure.
We stopped at the BP just before Newry and I really felt for the Bikers there
shaking with the cold and drinking coffee to try and get some heat into them.
All in all a bit of a disappiontment.
On a lighter note, we have enough Airwaves chewing gum to last us to next year and the boys got a fleece each.
The older one has grown out of his GSXR Suzuki one and opted for the Rizla one which looks well IMO. The younger one has switched sides and opted for an HM Plant Honda one, even though he says he will still wear his Suzuki one - the same one that incurred a large burn from the camp fire the previous night (must get a patch for it).
Weather in this country really is a bummer and is the one thing that we cannot depend on.
As always all we can do is hope for the best.
As for a cancelled race, what can you do about it, these things happen.

I took my son on the SV. I'd checked the forecast on the previous Tuesday, overcast but dry was the prediction! Booked the tickets on-line.
Started work at 5am so I would be finished with sufficient time to ride down.
My son had bought new Oxtar boots and a pair of Buse supposedly waterproof gortex trousers for a total of £200 the previous day. 279 miles, 75Euros for tickets with pit passes, £30 on fuel, three days to dry out leathers, gloves etc. and my bike looks like the gremlins were at it with sand-paper from all the crap off the road.
Only to be told that we should hold on to our tickets as we might get a concession next year.
KEEP IT! It was a wonderful experience that I hope we shall never repeat. :x
