News reports have confirmed that Paul McCartney has separated from his wife Heather Mills- McCartney.
Mrs Mills- McCartney is said to be distraught over the split "He has been my crutch for so long" She said in an earlier briefing,

"I have no idea why this has happened, I'm stumped"

She's reported to be making frantic efforts to keep the split as
civil as possible.

"She's running around in circles", according to a close friend,
"she will need all the support she can get its not like its easy
to walk out on a relationship like this"
It is not known whether a pre-nuptial agreement was signed prior
to the marriage, Paul McCartney is one of the richest men in the
world amassing a colossal wealth due to his participation with

The Beatles and subsequent musical collaborations, if an
agreement hasn't been signed it is believed that she won't have
a leg to stand on.

Rumours abound over the split have suggested that infidelity may
have been the cause. "She's terrible" a source stated, "always
trying to get her leg over".

Another source has suggested that her battle with alcoholism was
the cause. "Macca couldn't handle it anymore" a friend said "he
would get home at night and find her legless"

What is with some of you, I have had two friends I have ridden with loose limbs in bike smashes. I assure you that neither of these would find this sort of childish humour funny.

One of the former contributors to this very forum also lost a leg. By all means make fun at Heather MacCartneys dealings with the press, but please not at her disability. Even that was caused by a motorcycle. Where she was a totally innocent victim. Wrong Place wrong Time and an out of control bike.

My god the subject on this nearly gave me heart failure - I'm a Mrs McCartney!!!!

Phew, you were on about the imposter!

The motorcycle in question was a police one.

From what I know...the cop had his blues and sirens on going to a call when she walked out in front of him...this happened in London...I think.

Got to agree with Tim's sentiment tbh. Heather seems to be getting a lot of hassle from the gutter press when apparently even given her own disability she is a fervent campaigner for a number of charities.

If it wasn't for Mc Cartney's cash no one would be giving her a hard time at all. I doubt that she will be getting a settlement of ridicuous amounts but at the end of the day they both knew what they were going in to and a few million here or there aint gonna trouble Paul any, I am sure.

And to make fun of her disability is in my mind very distasteful. :?

I found it funny because I began to read it thinking it was a serious exert from
a news column or something. I saw what I thought were terrible puns.

Whilst I totally agree losing a limb is horrific for the person/s concerned, I don't think this was directly aimed at taking the p**s out her in a malicious way.

Exactly. She walked out in front of him not paying attention.

While shes done well for herself since, I believe from what Ive read he sustained serious injuries too and its pretty much wrecked his life, not to mention been forgotten about. Frankly Tim, if anyone heres the totally innocent victim its him, not her.

So frankly, I have no sympathy for her. Because I bet none of her settlement will go to him and help him recover for her stupidity in causing the accident in the first place. She stepped in front of a police bike with lights and sirens going - hardly a bike I would say was out of control. And it was him who was in the wrong place at wrong time for her to do such a stupid thing.

Sorry, may be harsh but way I see it.

But Tim you need some perspective here. This is aimed purely at her and her perceived "gold digging" not at anyone whos lost a limb as DanDares just said.

Exactly. Mercenary byatch stands to get about £50 Million give or take a few.

Can't say I've ever been sucked in by her Little Miss Sweetness act... lets see how much work for Charrrriddy she gets done when it's in her bank.

Sorry if you take offence at the subject matter, or it casused offence. I have added a warning, but it's not a joke aimed at the motorcyclists who have lost limbs or anybody else who has lost a limb for that matter... it's a joke about her.

…and to be honest, even if I had lost a limb or half a limb and read that, I don't think I could bring myself to take offence.

If I had lost a limb in an horrific motorcycle accident and someone posted, "anyone who's lost a limb in a motorcyle accident is a stupid retard", I would probably a bit pi55ed off about it though.

Look, whatever the circumstances that led to her disability are immaterial. She may well be a callous scheming money grabbing bitch and I don't care.

I do however, take exception to the original post that takes the **** out of her disability. It is not a joke about her, it is a **** take about her disability.

References to stumped, legless, not a leg to stand on etc are in poor taste.

This is my last post on this thread as it is such a long way down off the high horse I am currently riding.

Yes but they're innocent enough, and no different to a lot of humour in general. No-one's actually being victimised, and I'm pretty sure that there are a lot of positive-minded amputees that would be the first to crack a joke of this ilk. It's all a question of balance... oops!

It's a shame that you're friends are not able to utalise a sense of humour about their situation. My dad (who was training for a marathon at the time) lost a leg in an industrial accident. I realise that people deal with thiungs differently (different strokes for different folks and all that), but my dad would probably be the first to have a laugh at this (as would just about every amputee I have met). Don'y get me wrong, there have been times , in the early days especially, when he was extremely depressed. But it would often be someone saying something along the lines of "Aw, come on, lets just go out and get legless" that would help him.

I think most amputees take this kinda thing as laughing in the face of the disability, as opposed to laughing at the person (if you know what I mean).

Been done a while back but...

There's a cave in at the mine, one survivor is pulled from the wreckage. He's unconscious and his injuries mean that they have to amputate a limb.

He comes to and sees what they've done.

"Who's going to want a one-legged gold digger?!" he screams.

And Paul McCartney says "I might be interested!"

The plane joke is good. Everything is funny until its about oneself or someone you know. So I guess you either have to find everything funny, or nothing funny, or else you risk having double standards.
