Pulled into my drive tonight and got an overwhelming urge.
So I stood up, pulled the front brake, opened the throttle, released the the clutch and smoked the rear tyre (only for a couple of seconds).

How many miles have I just taken off the back tyre ?

Depends how long you held it. Just getting it spun up won't take more than a couple of hundred, I would have thought.

Not very many... You need to really overdo it to make a massive difference. That's why I have my whipping tyre :)

That's always my last hurrah when I've gotta get new tires... "Putting on a new one? Let's smoke off the old one..." I don't blow them, though, and it's always in front of the bike shop (and the owner comes out to take pics)...

Probably, his owners don't seem to let him in the house much as he's always mooching about on the street.
