Tayside road policing officers will be enforcing the laws throughout the area.
Chief Inspector Sandy Bowman, who heads the force's road policing unit, said: "It appears that there is an increasing trend to have windscreens and the front side windows tinted to a greater degree than is permitted by law.
"It is also noticeable that a number of motorcyclists are wearing helmets fitted with heavily tinted visors.
"Excessive degrees of tinting to these specific windows or to a visor can significantly reduce visibility and impair the driver or riders view of other road users and, of course, the ever changing road and traffic conditions around them."
